I've looked into Averitt, but I've been out of the saddle for too long for their refresher. I'm limited in my choices. I don't like being gone for a week at a time, but I need to start some where. I think if I can get 3-6 months of recent experience and add that to my 7 previous years I should be able to move into a more local or loco position. This has always been a source of contention with me. I love to drive, but hate the long hours or days out away from home. I wish I could just be a causal trucker. LOL.

Seems that experienced drivers would be asking for the contract if it was any good .

well, unless they are regularly checking the jobs site for SNI they wouldn't know about it. That's how I got on it. Had run a couple nights for the account filling in when I was first hired by SNI. My training DBL (dispatcher/liason) suggested to me then that if a spot opened up , I better grab it. Above me the average length of time for the vet drivers on the account is about 10 yrs. some guys with 20.l Now you tell me sir, Do you think these guys would stay if is wasn't worth it?

I am just at about 1 1/2 yrs exp. Coming up on a year on this account. I am on the lower end of the pay scale CPM. With miles for the week and the accessoral pay I grossed just over 1k. This amount is becoming a regular deal per week. fist couple months this year it was 900 a week.

It doesn't seem right hiring newbies to that account without offering it to the experienced drivers . It's also poor customer service putting unknown newbies on an account rather than reliable veterans .
Quality Carriers did one of their best accounts that way . It was a 1200 round trip that paid the driver over $800 . It involved making 4 hooks at the customer . Loaded tank A was delivered and the driver brought back waste tank B. It went like this .
Tank A had to go on the unloading pad but empty tank C was there . Tank C had to be moved to the loading pad where trailer B was . The driver had to drop A , pull out B and drop it then put C where B was . This had to be blindsided in . Then B had to be dropped , and A was put where C was . The driver then hooked to B , went to the shipping office , got bills minus weights and went to a Pilot for weights then came back to get bills completed .
QC should have had no more than 4 experienced drivers doing this but they kept sending newbies . Newbies had to be led by the hand to take 2 hours to do something somebody with experience could do in under 40 minutes . A few drivers went to the Pilot to weigh then went on with the load without coming back to get papers signed .
I had a customer employee tell me one driver had a bad shoulder and had the customer employee pull the pin and crank the dolly legs on each move .

Job sites don't give a good idea what the job actually is . The better drivers should be given personal notification

with all due respect to your years in this industry, I don't understand why you are even in this thread? Ever worked for SNI? Direct personal experience on this account? No? Then , really, I ask you what do you have to offer those that are asking questions here?

First its straight bad mouth SNI AND the account . Then I share what I personally experience , then it becomes, oh well, they should yada yada yada. Same with load assignments for OTR. First come first serve. Open hiring with greater signing bonus for exp drivers than inexp drivers. Basic description that can be further fleshed out with a phone call or ASKING HERE for actual info!!!!

Having buyers remorse about retiring? I gotta tell ya man, I very much appreciate many of your posts in other areas of this site as they are in a helpful spirit, but in here I am not seeing it.

No , I never worked for SNI but I have heard plenty of complaints from customers that had to deal with them . That's like asking me if I ever owned a Ford 6.0 diesel then telling me I shouldn't give on opinion on them because I wasn't stupid enough to buy one .
I wasn't singling out SNI . Any carrier should give better accounts the better drivers , not newbies . I did TJ Maxx loads which are probably similar . Tell me how long your newbies last .
