Do they hire only those with 48 state experience? I run reefer in the 12 west and may be looking to make a move soon. I am loving seeing that JCT runs their drivers hard, much needed as an L/O-O/O. My miles have gone from a consistent 3500 miles to fighting to get 2800 or so.
What kind of miles do these trucks typically have on them for new drivers, or does it all just vary? Is it a headache to bring on a partner to run team if you start out going solo?

I believe the requirement is just 18 months exp. And you've got reefer experience thats a plus. As far as miles it's been pretty consistent at least for me. Some drivers that i know are only getting high 2000's low 3's. There will be bad weeks and some very good weeks. If you know how to manage your business - (keeping mpg up above 6, managing your business and personal expenses) you should do fine.
As far as mileage on the trucks it varies at time of orientation on whats available. One week might give out all brand new trucks the next might have more older trucks available. I know they've been asking drivers with 06 and older trucks to start trading theirs in. But from 07's and up range from 450,000 and upWildcat74 Thanks this. -

I do a little creative writing as it is, not a big deal to me.
Alanp, seems like awfully high mileage to be getting in on a truck... How is the maintenance cost on those things? You get a truck in the shop and you're losing twice (down time + cost of repairs) so I'd like seeing a little newer truck than that.
Anything over 3k miles wouldn't be bad, I know a lot of places are not able to provide that kind of mileage right now. This may be a route I look into in the near future... -
Great post vulcan!

I thought this was a forum for driver support & company issues, not a ridicule a driver forum. LMB, I used to have a lot of respect for you, & looked forward to reading your posts, but if you & your wife, as a team that 'never runs out of hours', are going to try to ridicule a single driver that knows all too well the consequences of HOS violations, especially when there is an accident involved, you might possibly be DM material. I never suggested this might be an 8 to 5 job. Maybe you learned that from Mr Sally. If any of you think the Christner orgination is going to stand by you when there is a problem, good luck. Let me know if they keep sending those checks to your house, after they have to let you go, or when you are sitting in a cell somewhere. Good luck to all of you.RightSideSlide Thanks this.

your right chcrow this is not a driver bash site....LMB you should have known better...this is good info hes throwing out there..for the single drivers to be aware of...i know most have been saying if you cant run over 1000 miles a day stay where your at but dont fault a driver for wanting to stay somewhat legal....we all know there are times you cant. this is info site..good and bad trucking companies. not drivers. chcrow just giving his feedback from his experience...and we that are looking to come over to jct appreciate it.....i still believe jct and their lease is the best out there and sounds like the miles go with it.
