As mentioned above I drive for Crete. Used to run with Knight, big difference between the two. About once a year I get an itch about getting my own truck or leasing on with Prime or JCT. Maybe one day I will take the jump. Fuel prices and economy scare me though. -
suncoast,,, who are you going to work for kinda got lost i am going to crete i guess they seem to to be the most professional in the hiring process so far,, thanks stickhauler

Hi Landshark, My hubby is thinking about joining the JCT team soon and any paperwork you may have we would like to see. Also any info on the company you have would be great. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Hi STICK HAULER, I will be starting orientation with JCT on Jan/26. Ive been researching Lease programs for the past three months and found that 80% of them are in fact Fleece deals, purely setup to relieve the trucking company of financial burden and with the state of the economy, slow freight and high running cost, its nearly imposable to achieve your coals without enough capital to get you through at least 2 or 3 years and if you do have that much money, its better to buy a truck out right. The other 20% of lease programs try to give drivers the option to run their own business with varying degrees of success however all at a higher operating cost than normally needed!
Of all the research Ive done, JCT seems to have the best chance to come away with a positive experience; this is just some of the reasons why. They have on par or even lower overall truck and cost payments then many other companies, they have newer equipment, they have a very good maintenance program, it seems many of their lease operators are happy and making money, its a mid-size/family company (700 trucks or less, at the end of the lease the truck is yours, they have a fair number of drivers that have completed the program and still drive for the company, drivers get lots of miles, I have only heard of 3 or 4 drivers stating that the miles got slow later into their lease. Ive found more but lets stop here to avoid rambling.
Some of the bad I found with JCT is Trucks are mostly Hoods (Long Nose) poor for big city work, High safetrac number 91 (you will get red lighted a lot) company starting to grow faster than I would like to see. No pay for orientation (Im not positive on that one) some trucks may not have APUS, a cost evolved to end your lease (I think its $475) lets stop here.
Well Stick Hauler you are working for one of the better companies around (crete), the best thing to do is wait, save money and buy your truck however; you may be like me and many other drivers out here with less then good credit, getting older and not wanting to wait a few years before starting your business, not wanting to be stuck with a truck in the unfortunate event of failure, want to drive but looking for better pay options than many companies now offer and thats just a few reasons. Many drivers dont understand these reasons but some do. All in all its like they say (too each his own) Bottom line Stick Hauler, I think JCT will be the best option among the lease options out there base on my research but thats from my research based on what I thing is good for me, another driver may see it differently.
If there is anyone else who has researched lease purchase opportunities and found ones with fair potential of success or seem to have very good offers I would love to hear about what youve found! I may have missed some great offers in my own research and want to have looked at everything out-their before I commit to any program

Hmmmmm. Are you a real stick hauler?
Or did you drive a log truck?
Based on your experience. I assume real LOL But hard to tell now days. As most folks don't know what kind of tractor-trailer combo a stick hauler pulls
STICK HAULER Thanks this. -
Nice to know things are good LMB. That was also good of JCT to help out with fuel cost for the deadhead home. Is the company still very busy?
