JCT

Unfortunately, I got pulled over this morning for a missing mud flap and ended up with a log book ticket. Have never gotten one in the last 10 years or so. Since I'm here only 3 weeks, does anyone know what will happen?

 

3 weeks and a log book ticket not good from what i have heard.
A friend of mine was there for 4yrs and never had a service failure,no accidents,never damaged any equipment and had only 1 speeding ticket a couple years back got let go because of ticket in cali.
He was coming out of the flying j in frazier park and forgot to put his seatbelt on a chp pulled him over for that and asked to see his log book and he gave it to him but had forgot to bring his book current (he was at the j for about 1hr) and the chp gave him a ticket for the seat belt and a log book ticket for not being current to the last change of duty status.
Acouple weeks later on his way to cali they called him up and told him they were letting him go.He had to take the truck to Mira Loma and I gave him a ride back to Fresno.

Shannon could not even call and do it his self he had my friends dm Steve tell him he was let go per Shannon.

 

This scenario is not unique to JCT....where i work and depending on the type of ticket you get ...it can be anything from immediate termination or if you are lucky they let you off with a 6 month probation and loss of all bonus money.

 

I'm gonna put my two cents worth on this issue. Now he got a seatbelt ticket and a logbook ticket. Two tickets that shouldn't even been issued because the driver should known better. I'm not surprised that he was let go.

 

What type of log book ticket was it? Falsiying? Not current? Or just missing info? I'm not sure what's gonna happen but if shannon or john haven't called you up yet I'd just starting be more careful. There's no excuse to get a logbook ticket. If you weren't able to get it legal you should told your dm that ur out of hours. Hope that wasn't the case for you.

 

I suppose you never left and pulled out of a driveway and realized you had forgot to put you belt on right?
He was just out of the driveway accidents happen and I also suppose that you have never started rolling without making a mark in your book as well right?
I know he had a brain fart and I called him a ####### but those are very minor issues that should not even get a person fired.

 

people make mistakes. and it's his fine, not the companies. so what's the big deal. although, yes, isn't that when your supposed to update is when your stopped anyways?

what does the driving test consist of with jct? just outta curiosity.

True people make mistakes everyday. I agree that no one is perfect. As far as the firing part a logbook ticket means they did at lease a level 1 I think on him or is it a level 4 where they check the driver. Which means it will also count against the company. So company protecting their image will not tolerate this and most the time is enough for termination. Don't know how long your friend has driven before, he should know cali is very strict on trucks. Especially if he drove for JCT they preach about it. Both cali and oregon. Make sure ur logbooks are straight.
