what the websight says and what the phone says are two different things. i am perfectly clean, as per the above mentions. i put my app in. and got a phone call first thing in the a.m. she wanted to know about my job of 5 years. but it's not OTR. so she wouldn't process my app. according to her. 12 months, 48 states, recent within 36 months.

i'm looking for some insight please. i found a place, selling freights, for a really decent price. 5 year old models, almost 6 when the new models come out. given the economy these days. the payments would obviously affordable. miles aren't that high on some of there trucks. but the horsies are a little on the weak side. although less horsies should equate to somewhat better fuel mileage. and if i ended up on east coast, then power shouldn't be a problem anyways being mostly flat land on that side of country. but i'm thinking o/o might have a better chance of finding a job. but some companies won't take anythng older then 3 years. and others i have looked at want 5 years. i would like to at least get my foot back in the door somehow. would especially like to have my own freedom in owning my own truck. and maybe even sign on to some brokers. if some company isn't an option.

    opinions anyone.

i just want to thank you for starting this forum i have learned alot from you"LMB" and have read a lot of b.s. from a few along the way i am an 14 plus year trucker. truckin up and down the super slab. i was layed off back in feb. 2009 . i took the time off to take care of my self . so it was actually an blessing in disguise . but now that i am getting serious about getting back into the game. your forum has helped me with an difficult decision and choice that we all have to make . hours and hours of research and pining over the internet and phones lookin for the right choice and the right company to make the dream into reality. in our world it is so hard to make the right choice with out hours of research we both know the next trucking company is not just a phone call away . it is wrong to assume that all of our problems will dissapear with the next company we sign on to but research the heck out of the companys to make our lives, careers, our families just a bit better than the last situation we were in. any ways just wanted to thank you and glad that you are still with the forum after all the arguments and b.s. from the beginning..........THANK YOU LMB

a few words of advice continue doin what you are doin and surf the net puttin in apps with many diffrent .comsand .orgs and.nets as you can i believe my searches have rendered over 50 so far diffrent sights when u find the list of companies that you might be interested in call them and eliminate them to an hand ful then go onto forums and scrutinize them one by one. soon you will find yourself with two or three viable choices then of course scrutinize them even further. call them and see if you can talk to the president or ceo of the company , see if the owner truely cares about you and yours. dig, dig, dig and then dig some more. it will all be worth it in the end instead of making another ffe choice. best of luck cactus jack

A few good companies if they are still in existance used to be east west inc out of swannanoa n.c., florilli out of west liberty ia., r&m enterprises out of omaha all three runs to shakey and out to fl. East west mainly reefer runs furniture , paper, kodak from the east and p.u. Groceries coming back, florilli is known for turkey haulin and they do chicken haulin too....cluck cluck..... R&m is known for their beef mainly ibp. All three will keep u runnin and get you back to the home 20 pretty consistantly if u are on an major superslab. But if you are near an packing plant or slaughter house your chances increase just ask for it i bet one if not all three go by there mabey not so much east west but they are or used to be really good . Good luck to all cactus jack

But any ways i have read from page 1-50 in this forum and have learned alot about jct and am seriously considering this company from what i have read and heard from its drivers and not just from off here but conversations in choke and pukes , c.b."dinosaur internet", and sad to say scale houses...lol but to my surprise hardly anything disparaging and nothing that has not been covered in the first 50 pages of this forum . So i will dig deeper no doubt about it.

I seem to remember the walk away fee was $475, might not be exactly right but it's in the ball park.
