I don't think we have any loads that go to wilkes barre pa. The closest to there I believe is souderton pa where we pick up meat. Since you put a two week notice and they got you in pa I'm afraid that's the only way you can go home, prilly have to deadhead. You might want to ask your dm on what ur options are. I just know a lot of drivers just dh home cuz there are no loads that go anywhere near their hometown

I have deadheaded as far as 800 miles to get home
-
and that is fine is will deadhead, that is what I planned on doing but it is not working that way. Do i just tell them send me east and that I will deadhead home?
-
Did you turn in a macro for hometime. If not do so it will be on record. If they get you back to pittsburg or anywhere close call your DM and inform him(her) that you are taking your home time. Be SURE you do the MACRO
-
the reason you see so many JCT there is because right down the street after making a right out of the TA is one of customers Eurofresh Farms.I am on the complete opposite side of I-10 in Florida. -
I did Macro and got reply that home time was in system. That is what I don't understand

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and that I look forward to joining the team! I do have a few questions for everyone as I will be leaving a job to come over;
First: I noticed most recent the home time issues, I am from DE, where does JCT do business near DE? This is a concern if I'm deadheading 800 miles out of pocket.
Second: For those heading to Tulsa over the next weeks can u let us know what trucks are available and how truck selection went? Also what is helpful to bring to orientation? I will be flying in. What are your thoughts on the Days Inn. Has anyone notice their belongings gone through by staff while not in the room? Should not be a problem, my wife will be in the room! I picked that cherry up posted here somewhere.
Third: Alot of new drivers are here and will go through the process before me, How many drivers start on Monday but are gone by Thursday? From what I can gather from online, my referral, and other JCT drivers hired in the last year its about 50%. I ask that u pay attention in order to help everyone, From what I gather this is new in the last year, at first others in class thought they might have failed the drug/alcohol test, secondary the physical. It is happening to much to be that. From what I have heard the four days are basically a Job interview, remember all of our information has been researched beforehand so there is no detail your going to hide or u wont be asked to come, you will get a call to verify findings. So if asked to leave, its something else. My understanding is everyone is being watched at all times. This info when compared will help not only me but everyone. I do understand that this is a contract between driver and owner, not employee/owner, I also understand John wants quality drivers.
Fourth: For the drivers that have been running with JCT for more that 2yrs, How many drivers do u know that have paid $1 for a truck? I here more and more that they are going to force u into a different truck with a new lease and you can say yes and all is well, or being upset about losing everything put into the truck picked saying no!!! If no is the answer they will ask a second time, If no is the answer the third time then... Well upon 174 pages on here posted its as small as your handle in letters under the window to much more, all considered violations of the lease agreement, but it will be something.
Its not my idea to scare anyone or turn them of from JCT as I do want the oppertunity to drive for them, I believe from the drivers spoken to, or my refferal that this is an oppertunity I have been choosen for, These are some of the most giving of time, when they have none to give, and best drivers on the road! Only once in the last year, while we were both fueling at a Pilot in TN did a driver turn a cold shoulder, I did not mind, I did not take it personally he simply didn't have time,,, I respect that, he was polite!
Again all this info will be usefull to everyone, and in my case, I have job that I will have to leave, a job that once a week for the last three has asked me to reconsider, a job that will hold my seniority for 90 days, I will be eligible for rehire after that no questions asked! This is a tough decision to make, but I want the freedom of being an owner-operater and this will get me 50% of the way! My company understands this after a long personal interview and my business leader and operations center manager both gave JCT personal and character referances, I believe this is above and beyond for a trucking company!!! Well I hope everything works out and I'm driving under John Christner's colors! Thanks alot, Vette -
Did you remind your dm when it was getting close to your hometime? Here's my advice when you get your load assignment and its not getting you home or near it you got to ask your dm or remind him or her about it. Remember communication is key here. Don't just assume that they will remember for you. They all have over 100 drivers to care for so just remind them if the loads they are giving you doesn't seem to be taking you home

Hey vette first of all welcome on joining
Now let me try to answer your questions. Your 1st question about the DE area all I can tell you on that is I've only been driving thru the state maybe once or twice the past 4 years. If I remember right we do have one customer that we bring tomatoes to up there. Not positive though. If that isn't the case then I think jersey would be the closest to you. So you might have to DH home from there.
Your second question. As far as trk selection it is gonna be different every week. One week they might have plenty of used trks and one week none. I would recommend you bring enough stuff to last you 2-3 weeks cuz you don't have truck payment then. I would run as many miles as you can before going home. As far as worrying about someone going thru your stuff at the hotel. I haven't heard anyone bringing that issue up recently.
Your third question. I do know they've been sending some drivers home. This isn't a recent thing. They look at how you perform throughout orientation. Some of them have failed the drug test. I know 4 did this one week. Also if you fail your driving test that may be another issue. There's been several that say they cut in front of cars, got in wrong lane on a turn, hit a curb. Etc. Now if you can't pass their driving test that's best for them not to sign you on. Also there were several that were drinking at the hotel to. Now that's plain stupid, just cuz your at the hotel doesn't mean your free to do anything you want.
Your fourth question. I've been here just over 4 years now. I got 1.5 years left on my trk. They haven't bothered me any. I know many that have finished paying off their trk. Most of the senior drivers that are here don't want to pay off the trk. Most of them run them til its outta warranty and trade it in. I've heard rumors that they force you outta your trk. I admit they might be pushy but they don't force you out. As stated on contract you cannot do anything to the trk without approval. That's including putting letters on your trk.
Anyways I hope I have answered all your questions. Feel free to post more if you got more coming goodluck. -
Alan what is the point of drivers not being allowed to drink at the Hotel? Are they not off duty? And grown Men and Women?
Just curious.JohnBoy Thanks this.
