They will provide bus ticket to hotel
They feed you lunch monday to thursday
    No its not paid orientation
Yes they issue you a new med card
    Drug test - urine
By thursday you should have ur trk and ready for dispatch
Accounting - they have atbs where u pay weekly for bookkeeping. As far as classes. No they don't provide any. My advice is if your new to being owner op I would get more experience about running a trk business before starting

That's similar to what I tell drivers all the time, only what I tell them is to ask themselves "Do I really want to be responsible for everything?" To many of the newbies I see in the L/O field, still want the company to be responsible for everything. If they want to blame someone else for every problems they have, they may as well go back to work for one of the "Big 4" companies. Just MHO, but if you're not willing to take the responsibility, you’re not ready to work for a fast paced, professional, L/O company. I see opportunity here. I started as an L/O and now I’m an O/O because of JCT. The JCT system works.

    It definitely seems that way.

Alanp, I thank you for your replies, very helpful.

Did the trucks come with APU's on them or is that something you put on yourself?

As far as maintenance and parts go, do they have any kind of discount like some of the larger fleets have?

Does JCT have shops for maintenance?

I am currently on a dedicated account running for an O/O through Swift and running anywhere from 2700-3700 miles. I would love to be getting on the top end of that scale a lot more often but as of late it's been more towards the bottom end. I'd love to be able to go O/O or L/O for myself but it seems like JCT is about the only company that is setting their guys up for success.

Again, I thank you very much for your posts, they've been a great help.

Not all the trucks come with APU's. If you pick a truck that doesn't have one, you will have to wait 90 days before they will agree to put one on. They want to get to know you before they put more money into a truck. They have some other requirements too, like you have to be positive in your maintenance escrow & no service failures. I'm sure they have more requirements than that, but I don't know what they all are.

I don't know if they want prices published, but I can say they have done well for me on parts & labor. One of they guys in maintenance put it simple; they don't like being undersold. Every time I've had any kind of issue with them, they have been willing to work with me.

The only shop they have is in Sapulpa, but the Breakdown guys will try & get you better deals if you work with them.

    Hope this info helps.

What is your approach to Home time as a JCT driver ?

The payments and bills for the truck keep rolling in.

    What do you do ?

As far a hometime be sure to send a request thru qualcomm to your driver manager. When the time is near you may want to remind him. They are pretty good at getting drivers home. I live by our ft worth yard so its easy for me. For some they may have to deahhead or bobtail home.

Truck payments ranges from 480 to 600. If u get trk 2 years or newer u'll have a side note for a year at around 100-150. Then you have qualcomm fee for 11.53. Then you have three ins. Occupational, physical damage, and liabilty. Then u have option of getting drivers legal which is 3.95 and atbs which is 8-9 a week.

For me with no miles I'm needing to clear 767 dollars to break even. Hope I answered ur questions

well today was just a whole bunch of talking:biggrin_25518:

it wasn't too bad, and i did learn a few things, but man is it hard to just sit in a class room all day long.

when you get here make sure you have packed your common sense, it will come in very handy here.

tomorrow is the big day. its truck picking time!:Transportation cost

there seems to be no way of knowing whats going to be there, they have been moving trucks in and out of the area that we believe is the holding area, and then we were also told that not all the trucks on the list will be in that area anyway, so i guess we will all just have to wait and see.

    until tomorrow.........
