As you know I came from Prime and I'm real happy with JCT they have their little quirks but I'm making a consistent paycheck here week after week compared to Prime when I never knew what I would make or not make I should say. It's more of a hands on Owner Operator scenario here compared to Prime where a lease operator is basically a company driver who pays for the equipment and extra cost. I will have to hand it to Rob Low looking back he was one smart man, the way he has drivers paying for all his cost of running a trucking company and sitting back making tons of profit. I would be willing to bet that Prime is one of the most profitable trucking companies out there. He has people pay for his Equipment, Road Tax, Reefer Fuel, IFTA Tax, Maintenance Cost, Tolls, Fuel, Excess Mileage Fees (A myth he claims they get charged, that he pockets 85% of the time) Never gives back the left over maintenance funds if a driver leaves that they pay into ever mile they drive. Yep I have to give him credit he's smart.

Mustang 970, dry van is much less work than refer. Besides hanging around produce coolers for 10 hours waiting to load and getting jacked around at meat packing plants for who knows how long while dealing with super rude office personnel/security people, you also have to babysit the load. Remember, there is an engine that needs tending to, temperature that needs monitoring constantly, (Can you park a loaded trailer with the unit running in front of your house overnight?) And then there's washouts almost everytime you get empty(on your time). That extra engine can put you in the shop for downtime if it breaks. Visualize this: You're parked overnight taking 10, you wake up at 5 hours and the unit is off, you jump up and cannot diagonise the problem. You have to find a repair shop pronto and get it fixed before the product starts warming.

Lumpers/warehouses are the same as dry van. And I'll say that breakdowns are rare, but, they do happen. :smt063

Have you read all 200 pages yet? Lol there was only 50 pages about 5 months ago. You will find all the info ur gonna encounter after reading :) also Vulcan is a former prime driver I believe. He has posted his opinion about jct. So if u wanna hear a prime drivers pov there you go. Otherwise my opinion about jct is that its a great comp for u if you are willing to run and be able to manage yourself as far as expenses, and mpg on ur trk. If you can't manage your business yourself this is not for you.

Yeah I guess if I was in Vegas and hit a million dollar payout JCT would have to come pick up the truck after I get the load repowered LOL, Don't know if that's what happened on that truck but that's what will happen if it comes my day.

we need details, and pics! I'm facinated by people who abandon trucks and live in nasty ### trucks. It's like a bad train wreck. You know it's going to be bad but you just can't look away!:biggrin_25521:

thanks, alan. I got to see my daughter cheer at a school football game last night, and watched a volleyball tournament this morning. I must say, they play better volleyball than basketball! Came in 4th, but a good showing just the same.

How are you doing Vulcan? Hope all is well after your recovery mission. I agree with the request for pics if at all possible,

I will talk to you guys monday.
