Hi there!

Wife and co-pilot to hubby the truck driver... I have been reading your posts with great interest on the JCT forum. I want to THANK
everyone for taking the time to answer all the questions asked as we have learned A LOT just from reading this.
We currently run for CRE and after almost 2 years are making a move... upward! Randy has an orientation date for November 17th... we'll both be there and looking forward to working with you all and with JCT.
I was a bit concerned at first about the talk on how you have to run for JCT, but the more I/we read... it isn't really any different than what we do now (except you all are getting more miles)... run hard, run early, be creative, etc.
The run for the trucks... well as everyone... we hope there is something that accommodates a couple as I am on the road with Randy all the time. Any chance of a full size bed in any of them?? We are not familar with the Kentworths, or Peterbuilts.
I do have a question... the packet that is mailed to your home... is there anything in there that could NOT be faxed to us on the road? We will probably have to have someone at home do this for us as we will be dropping the CRE truck off and going directly to JCT.
LMB... we would SO love to be up NORTH right now! Love the northwest and we have been circling TX, IL, AL for about 3 months now.
Looking forward to meeting up with you all one day!

Is there anyone on the forum in orientation this week? Was wondering how it is going for them.
Currently in TX... taking 10 down. Hope to break out here and head north soon!

I've been surfing the various JCT threads and read that if you don't get the truck you want that you can go to "John" (not sure which John)... and request the type you do want... wait 90 days and you'll get it.
True or...?
TIA,

Dabs,
I am very familiar with JCT as well as any driver from them posting. Your hubby will get to pick from whatevers there. I believe it is 90 days that you can get the one you want. Right now they have Intl Prostars, KW T660's, Pete 387's, Pete 386's, Freight Cascadias, KW W900's, Intl 9900IX's, Freight Classic XL's, Pete 379's, KW T600's. Most are equiped with CAt engines and 13spds though the new trucks seems to be getting the 10spd mated with a ISX Cummins. Most roomy are prostars(if they are skyrise not hirise), Classic XL's, Cascadias, and 387's. I have heard the 386 and 379's have good room too.
Vulcan got to get a new prostar on his day while Excel got a T6, and Jarbo got a Pete 379. If your truck needs an APU, I believe it is 90 days too. I take it you are fleece drivers.

Hi Dabs,
Welcome to JCT. I have been here for almost 90 days, and will be heading back to Sapulpa next week for a "trade up" in truck. I am currently in a W900, and as you probably know, it is lacking in the room department. Sure would not do well for you guys! Unless one of you wants to ride in the trailer! I am leaning towards a Prostar. I spoke with Mike Neal, who is the guy who handles the trucks, yesterday, and I was just 4 days too early to get out of the W9! So, in answer to your question, yes you can get into a different truck after 90 days, but there are some conditions. Mike will let you know when you ask about the upgrade.
I don't recall them sending me a packet to my house. You will have a package at the hotel when you check in. It will have to be completed before orientation begins on Monday morning. Just the standard paperwork, application, work history, etc... Even if you filled out the application on line, they need it in hard copy. I would suggest a simple diet the night before orientation. Water is probably the best bet for drinking since they will be doing a urine test Monday morning. It will also check for sugar, blood etc... If something is abmormal, they will put you on a "diet" for all of Monday, and recheck on Tuesday. If it isn't okay then, they will make a decision at that point.
Good luck, and if you have any more questions, everyone on here will be more than happy to try and help out.
As for orientation, if you want an earlier date, just keep asking your recruiter.SilveradoBlue, dabs and Vette1967 Thank this. -
