Welcome to the JCT Team, As far as trucks go for two people yall are better off with a freightliner classic. That is what LMB and his copilot has. That will be the one with the most room in it. None of the trucks have a full size bed, it's a california twin and they have a bunk. You can normally fit two people on the bottom bunk if you sleep sideways.Anyways, as far as getting the truck you want, whatever is available during orientation is what yall get to choose from. Then after 90 days then you may consider trading it in for something that you see on the yard.
they don't special order trucks so the trade in is also whatever is on the yard that they have. the new trucks that they will be ordering will only be prostars and maybe some peterbilts 386. Im not sure if they got plans for other trucks. I wouldn't recommend going to John Christner to bother him about truck selection. The last time someone did that they got let go. Umm, I hope we've answered most your questions and if you got more feel free to ask.![]()

ok what is everyones take on glenn?

Beck?? He is a babbling idiot, a washed up DJ that some how landed a job with faux "news" and has a following of morons that actually think he knows something.
But that's just my take.
The dispatcher? He is the guy that gets the problematic drivers, the ones that need a little extra attention and guidance.
Actually I have no idea at all, I just made up that whole rant on the fly. I guess I'm just in a mood. LOLAlanp613 Thanks this. -
Oooops, did I speak out of turn? I was joking with huckleberry and didn't mean to offend anyone if I did. No one has anything to say?
-
yup. you ripped your panties with most of us.
just kidding! where you at, and heading? I am in El Paso right now, heading to Graton, CA with a load of wine bottles from Laredo. (so I will be on I-10) It seems everytime I have been in Laredo, there is twice as many trucks as the last time I was there. I have never seen so many trucks in one place! -
lol. I'm in Houston getting unloaded (flowers) and then I don't know where I'm going. I've spent 9 out of the last 11 days on I-10 from pheonix to flordia so a few of them trucks may have just been me. : )

Hmmm can't beat mira loma though lol. There were at least 20 there on tuesday

Thanks for the info. Researching ProStars online... are they really as fuel efficient with the aero dynamic styling as they claim? They sound good in print, look good... what do you ProStar drivers have to say about them?
TIA,
Dabs

Tia, I drive a 379 and as with any truck you have to drive them with out keeping your foot out of it. If you run 70mph from truckstop to truckstop like some of our guys it doesn't matter what shape the truck it, your just not going to get the mpg we all want. I get high 5's to low - mid 6's. But I don't always run 63 either. (Sometimes you just gotta hang it out there) lol
And as with any new truck your first year the mpg is going to suck. And then you will also have to get on the waiting list for an apu......
But that's just my opinion...dabs Thanks this. -
Thanks again. At the moment I am on a fact/opinion finding mission right now about the possible tractors we may have to choose from to begin with as we only have had experience with the Freightliner Century... and what we "might" want to get later on if the selection at orientation is slim.
