Good Who would want to pay for that....... Lease operator and a Prostar not a good combo to bring in driver's.
-
Why no 387's at JCT ...And you would think they could get the trucks tripac equipped from the factory like the lease trucks at trans-am.

That thing needs a wash my friend. Could that be a o/o's truck?

A statement like that only proves your ignorance of what it takes to be a successful O/O. The new Prostar is one of the, if not THE, most areodynamic trucks on the road. This equates to better fuel mileage, which means more $$$ to the bottom line.
It is true that Freightliner claims the Cascadia to be more areodynamic than the Prostar. However, this is not my point for this reply. As any truck that is areodynamic, and designed to save fuel, will be an asset to an O/O.
The problem with too many wanabe O/Os is that they are NOT businessmen first, and a driver second. Many times wanabes will chose to be a lease purchase O/O (which I DO NOT recommend) based partly on the fact they can get a fast truck,or a KW 900, or a 379 Pete, or a Freightliner Classic.
While I agree these trucks are realy nice to look at, looks don't translate into money on the bottom line. Yes, there are exceptions to this, but I'm speaking about lease purchase O/O, or other O/O who may own their truck but lease to a company. Independents, or O/Os leased to a company, with specialized customers in a niche market are the exception.
While it is also true that the afore mentioned Classic Style trucks can get good fuel mileage, it is ussually done be an O/O that is willing to run SLOW, thus negating the areodynamic advantages.jlkklj777, knighton5, ProPilot and 1 other person Thank this. -
Another factor to consider when purchasing a truck or leasing a truck is the number of shops you have to choose from to do the necessary repairs. Freightliner has the largest market share of units sold per year and then it is International. These 2 manufacturers also have the largest network for repairs throughout the country. I believe TA truckstops are Authorized Freightliner repair shops now and carry many parts in stock which means less downtime overall when getting repairs done.

Peterbillt and KW have a large number too. Also,TA honor freightliner warrantees.

I like those Pro Stars too. I think I'll either get one of those or the Lone Star.

The reason we want this classic, is more room for a team. We have worked the ECM to get the mpg up to 6.7 loaded. the same reason for wanting a cascadia
