Yup... we are!
Randy got the orientation package on Friday and has been filling it out, the standard "tell us all about you" paperwork.
We were going to do a bit of sight seeing though I wrenched my back while packing and lugging my bags somehow so we have been chilling mostly in the hotel room except when we go for breakfast ( a rarity) at the Village Inn.
Mustang... I ride with Randy all the time, so we are a team in that sense... not a driver though I have my CDL permit we decided to go ahead and make the move to JCT as we would be so much better off than waiting until I got a year's experience in. I'm very happy being the co-navigator, secretary, stewardess, accountant, second pair of eyes, etc. It works for us.
We saw several big nose JCT trucks from last week's recruits... KW and Internationals (Eagles), mostly silver colored, a few teal... some new Internationals... I think must have been drivers exchanging after their 90 days which were the new sleek style. There are at least 5 of us here so far though I have not met any of the other drivers yet as I was not available to chat with them while they gathered around a JCT driver with his new prostar. As you might have guessed by now I am the outgoing one of us...
I'll post each day as I can.

Can anyone give some more updated info on JCT? How are they doing now loadwise etc? Lease operators still making money? Lots of miles?
-
Short answers to your questions would be "Good" and "Yes".
If you read through this very informative thread you will find the answers to just about all your questions!

Don't let him skip out on the bill on you. You gotta watch that guy.

Lots of both! If your willing to do your job. As stated several times here "keep your foot out of it, and your butt in it".

Look who's talking lol. I think its the other way around. He's great at convincing us to buy him lunch.

First day done... Woohoo!

Larger group as there was 18 or 19 in the group of new drivers... all made it through the first day. A good bunch of guys and gals... 2-3 teams. Paperwork in the morning... road test in the afternoon along with more paperwork and tests.
I didn't really get a good look at the trucks, but since everyone says the choice changes day to day I didn't strain to see what was out there. Rumor has it that there is going to be more ProStars coming in.
Everyone was very nice and friendly... and the atmosphere was upbeat. KH... there is a shop there where you can get hats, t-shirts, etc.
I'll update you more tomorrow!

I wonder if there is a Fleet Manager there named Dana, Female, Blond, probably been there maybe 7 years. She used to work at CFI, moved to Bristow area I think, and went to work at JCT.
