well i just finished orientation at JCT. All seems great so far. As far as truck selection, the odds of getting a brand new truck are slim. It happens but seldom. The reason...you are on probation for a 90 day period. If they give someone a new $130,000 KW right out of the box and that guys trashes the truck, is always late or just a terrible driver, then Mr. Christner has a new KW that has cost more than it will ever be worth. After 90 days you can that the truck you got at orientation and trade it in for a new truck or newer truck if one is available. I took a 2007 Int 9900 with a apu. The truck has 450000 miles on it. In 90 days it will be traded in for a new or newer truck. In the class that completed thursday there were 6 people in class. We had 7 trucks to choose from. One Int, 3 Freightliners all classics, and 3 KWs 2 w900 and one t600. All of the trucks have over 300000 miles on them. But at the same time all were 2007's. As far as miles I took a pre load trailer that was on the yard going to Jacksonville, Fl. Today I got a preplan already picking up in Jacksonville going to San Antonio Tx. All in all I would rate JCT at a 95. I came from Maverick, a very good company but no freight right now. JCT is alot more laid back and easy going. The people are great and always ready to help and they want you to succed. My first payment will not come out until the 25th or march, however I will be paying the insurance and any other deductions (ie. fuel, drivers legal plan, atbs). My paymet are 550.00 on the tractor and 108.00 on the side note. At 2000 miles I will bring on (net) approx. $500.00 at 3200 miles $1200. If anyone would like more info just ask I will answer if I can, however I am leaving at noon tomorrow and my laptop tried to run away and got injured. In reallity I dropped it. Ask away and I hope I can help.

    Appreciate all the info guys.

How many years before the truck is actually "paid for" under the lease agreement? I know it will probably vary based on the age of the truck but I am looking for a ball park figure, 3,4,5,6 years?

How long is the lease contract term?

I know as a lease op the entire lease payment is 100% tax deductible so for me it comes down to how much you actually wind up paying for that $100,000.00 truck.

As a current team operation we would be putting some serious mileage on any truck and doubt we would be able to pay one off before it had over a million miles on it (figure 250,000 to 300,000 miles per year for an average team).

Does JCT have any kind of "over mileage" penalty?

Seriously considering this company as a potential fall back position if my current company job does not improve.

Maybe this will help add to that down below your truck payment and if you get an APU they take that out for the first year. Also JLK, the questions I didn't answer, LMB covered.

    QUALCOMM USAGE $ 11.53
    00 02/18/2009 INS/LIABILITY $ 7.62
    00 02/18/2009 INS/OCCUPATIONAL ACC $ 36.62
    00 02/18/2009 INS/PHYSICAL DAMAGE $ 79.50
    00 02/18/2009 AMERICAN TRUCK TAX

    00 02/18/2009 TIRE/MAINTENANCE ESCR $ 10.10

Sorry no they don't. You have to fork over the $400.00 or what ever it costs yourself. You're welcome.

Another little added tidbit about the Mira Loma yard. JCT and C.R. England share the same yard. So if your on a 34 hour restart and get bored, you can always slingshot a couple of England trailers for entertainment. J/K please do not take this literally.

I visited the JCT site. I did not see anything on green drivers. Anyone know what their policy is on this? 4 months if you need to know.

Also, do they have dedicated fleet? IE haul loads for Walmart?

Not sure if it was LMB or whom. 90 days you get a swap. What do you do? Can you tell the company in qualcomm that you would like to get a Cascadia when you can? Or what is the deal?

The Freightliner website claims the cascadias get around 9+ mpg. Anyone confirm this?

Thankyou for your time, going to have to shed some weight before I can drive again (too much good eating of the wifes).
