DM says freight east of Mississippi is real slow right now. I know JCT sent out a message about helping to get people home for the holidays and I'm all for the practice , but afterwards it's all about me, yep I'm greedy and selfish. I want a load to at least AZ from here delivering tomorrow. Yep I'm in Super Trucker mode after 12 hours sleep.

I get the feeling that freight is slow all the way around. I've been sitting more than I'm used to for the last couple of weeks. I'm actually starting to get a touch nervous about money. I don't do well when I sit much at all. I get bored and start finding things to disassemble.

This is why I believe JCT does not get upset for drivers taking time off this time of year

December thru Febuary are the slower months per the paperwork given at orientation. And yes it did say this was a good time to take your vacations, still... if they have 800 drivers wanting Christmas and new years off... that could be a problem don't you think? So if they had issues with the holidays I think they would consider do it differently next year. Let's face it most of us would want to take the holidays off, so there has to be some system in place to control that.

I don't think this is the first Christmas Holiday they have had to deal with. Believe it or not, but there are some drivers who would rather work the holidays. Some so they can just complain. That is the way they start conversations with other drivers. Anyway enough of my smart-as-sisim.
For the drivers that are sittin, ya won't be much longer. As soon as the union workers get done with thier paid holidays up there in Jersy, you'll get rollin. We have freight here in NC, c'mon down.....

That's what I am saying, I'm agreeing with ya ole goat... no complaining or sitting here... we haven't stopped rollin' except for 2 blizzards. Life's too short to sit and complain... lol! JCT has been around for a while I believe they know what their doing. Enjoy your vacation!:)

I am trying to enjoy it, can you tell I'm getting antsy. And by the way, I have AT&T and a friend (JCT Driver) has Verizon, and we get good coverage with a few dead spots,(Flagstaff, western Nebraska, certain parts of Texas, but it is a LOT better than Sprint or Nextel. Had em both got rid of them. I like the AT&T for the "Push to Talk" for when the wife is sliding the tandems, she can tell me when to stop, or hand signals work just as well. Y'all drive safe, I am freezin my butt off here. Aint sposed to be this cold here
