I guess I need to clarify, don't want anybody to think I was being offensive. A.F. Vet myself, worked C-5's, 141's and even a occasion 130 (maybe Herky and I meet in a former lifetime). Anyrate in the A.F. We have Fighters, Bombers, Tankers, and lovely named Trash Haulers, Transports, and since at the time they carried no weapons systems or even defensive systems, they were some times called targets. Have done enough BDR to see the truth behind that term.
Herky, I always thought the 141's were the work horses.

Well I have some good news and so not so good news. I finally got my truck. Bobtailed over to the motel Thursday evening to get my stuff. Did the fuel thing at the QT while over there. Then bobtailed back to JCT yard to get trailer. Headed down to Nashville, AR to pick up a load this morning. I figure no need for details because I'm sure yall know what's in Nashville, AR lol Anyways, somewhere south of I-40 I noticed that my air compressor was running more and my air dryer was getting very violent sounding under there. Followed procedures with DM and Breakdown. Was routed to the Freightliner in Oklahoma City. Btw, my load is going to City of Industry, CA. Got here at Freightliner at 1745 (5:45pm for yall that are counting your fingers lol) Service Dept told me that it would be late tonight before they could look at it. So I notified night DM and Breakdown again. And here I sit still upstairs in the drivers lounge. Heck of a way to start my escrow acct, huh! lol No, I'm not pissed. Maybe a lil frustrated. Because I know, as I'm sure yall know, how big of a hurry some of these shops get in. I'd hate to lose my CA load if a relay is needed. But it's ok. JCT has plenty more out there. I kinda had my hopes on starting the first month with no problems lol or was I dreaming? Well, sooner or later I will catch up to yall out there so I can get me a cup of coffee lol

I'm sorry to hear you have mechanical problems right off. It is frustrating enough when you have been on the road for a while, but the first day... argh!
You've got a cup of coffee waiting for you... a few I think out here... and maybe even some pie...

Thanks dabs! I had to leave for a lil bit. Night DM called and asked if I could take my trailer over to the OK City yard. He said if they get my truck done tonight or in the morning he was going to leave me on it. I don't see how! It delivers Monday 0700. Anyways, I don't think a person can ever fully prepare for a break down. Especially the 1st run lol but that's all part of it. I'm just glad it wasn't something like a tranny going out or throwing a rod. That would suck! I would prolly hafta go have a talk with Mr JC. Which btw, I got to talk to him yesterday. A real down to earth guy. I wonder if the owner of Swift meets with the drivers? lol

OK City to City of Industry is only about a day and a half in JCT time! That's an easy run as long as the weather cooperates.

Hey Dabs, you said the other day you were headed for Dallas. Where are you at now? I'm near Dallas now. Deliver tonight, then to Farmer's Branch headed for Washington. They don't know it yet, but I'm going to run out of hours as I deliver the final of three drops up there. The final drop is 65 miles from my house and I haven't been there since the beginning of November. I have home time requested for Singles Awareness Day weekend. I refuse to miss the Daytona 500 this year.

Yea, about 1300 and some change. No problem there. I just want my truck lol and hope someone doesn't decide to shut a road down lol

when arrow screwed their drivers, the finance company contacted JCT about the possibility of storing some trucks/trailers at the JCT facility until they could make arrangements to get them where they needed to go. JCT told them they could store up to 50 trucks/trailers there for a time (and I would think a small fee!) I had the same question when I first saw them and had flashbacks of tarping loads in the cold and/or rain. Gave me nightmares for a week! -
The only part u gotta keep checking is 40 at flagstaff. They shut it down thursday night. Driving thru there the other day was like off roading. The plows weren't able to scrape all the ice off I guess so everyone was bouncing up and down.
