Haystack, contact Royce on Monday morning. I'm sure he will work something out on your bill. It may not be covered because your on the road but he should be fair about it.

Just keep the same attitude you have now and you will be fine.

I just got done reading all the posts about the company. Sounds very good. Miles are my main concern. I spoke to recruiting today and the soonest they can start me in the next orientation will be in March. Does it normally take this long to start? And one other question, do most solo drivers really average 3000 miles a week? In the past eleven years I've managed to work for some real losers. So I'm cautiously optomistic.

Unfortunately, yes it does take a while to get into an orientation class. There is a long list of drivers wanting to join JCT. But reasons for the wait per driver will vary. Some have to wait to get finances at home in order, some have legal matters, etc. If they rushed big classes thru orientation they would probably end up like some of those other failing or failed companies. So don't fret my friend. If they have you scheduled for a class date stay in contact with your recruiter and continue to research JCT for more useful info. As for the miles per week, I can't speak for another driver. Unfortunately I'm having somewhat of a rough start. But yes the miles and loads are there. In my reasearch, during orientation and from talking to drivers that drive for JCT and even some that have quit...I have never heard any driver complain that they wasn't getting enough miles.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. Getting a new air compressor and or air dryer. I fell asleep a lil before midnight. Woke up around 6am, checked my phone and JCT had called 2 times. Went into a lil panic mode while rubbing sleep out of my eyes. DM laughed. Service dept here at Freightliner said should be done in couple more hours. That was around 6am. Can't wait to get out there. But I guess I have to, huh? LoL

I have a question. Is there any laws about having firearms in a truck or do the companies set the rules about that?

The first question I have to ask is, do you need a gun????
I've been driving a long time and have never need one...

Each state is going to have a diff set of laws and I doubt the best of lawyers could determen your answer in a nut shell.
Unless you have a federal permit to carry, I think the answer to your question is no.

I'm sure JCT does not allow you to have a gun, I didn't ask.

    BigCountryChef and Alanp613 Thank this.

Depending on the time of year your miles will change, some people the don't make it do not know how to manage their money or business. Often drivers who go week to week say they don't make money, but when you ask how many miles they are running they should have money to spare.... You must be able to work from a month to month like any business. Sometimes the trips fall so that you get a $2300 check this week and next week it's $400. If you spend $2300 this week you will more than likely be calling me and telling me you can't make any money.....

I had 10 people in my class, 1 quit to be home more. Most of us are happy but there are a few that say they can't make any money but when our 90 day was up we all had the same miles with in 2000 give or take. I ran 53,000 miles in 14 weeks and that is almost 3800 a week......

    Alanp613 Thanks this.
