We've only been with JCT since the beginning of January and while we haven't been outrageously busy we've been steady.

I will say at this time last year we were driving for Prime, driving about the same miles as now. Big difference, we were either in the hole (Pay Robert Lowe for the priviledge of living in a tiny space) or we made $300-$600. When the freight picked up we ran our tukus off, and our pay averaged $2000 a week.:biggrin_25526:

    Gabby,

Last I heard you make the final payment and they give you the option of staying on or leasing a new truck.

Before I became a trucker, I used to climb radio towers for a living. Was 300ft up a tower bout 30 miles east of Boise City, Ok 1 day, when I glanced around and thought I was having a flashback or something. Off in the distance, north of me, I caught the site of a huge yacht just cruising down the hiway. Turned out to be attached to a semi and who knows where it was being transported to. Sure did give me a start tho.

I didn't get a phone call about a new auditing dept.....yet. But I did get a message on my qualcom that I now have a new DM. Apparently, not only is he new to me but new to JCT also. Sent a message telling a lil about himself, his experience at JB Hunt and that he was going to call that afternoon. I believe that was Thursday and I'm still waiting on that phone call lol I've been home last few days so I haven't made it a priority to meet a new DM lol Leaving out tomorrow, loading at Tyson in Pottsville (Russellville) going to Vernon, CA.

I talked to a driver this weekend his truck was L0012. Been here 16 years and L0088 was sitting at his house. He has paid of 5 trucks. So I doubt the stories being told here have any truth to them.

It seems a lot of people look for the bad side of everything and if they can't find it then they make it up! Drivers get fired all the time for many reasons but to hear them tell it it's never their fault.

JCT is a great company to work for. All your expected to do is your job! As a professional driver you know what your job duties are. If you require someone to hold your hand and tell you how to do your job then maybe you need to be driving someone elses truck, you might not be ready to run your own business and that is not the fault of JCT. They provide you with a very good support team but it's there to help you not do it for you!!

Do your job, keep your nose clean, and manage your business and soon you too can have your truck paid off. However, having a paid for truck will indeed make you about $500 -$600 more a week but the down side is this, your now in a higher tax bracket, and you have nothing to write off as far as your truck it's self. So based on 20% you will pay uncle sam another $6000 in taxes this year. But you can put "leased to" on your door.

I will continue my lease until I trade it in and lease another. Also if you pay it off and sell it? Think Capitol gain tax..... That's right, you get to pay more taxes.

    That's my rant.
