Yep unless people were there they would believe how hard it was snowing and sleeting, visibility at dark was almost 0. I came thru Albuquerque before dark it was dry about 1 mile from top of hill it started flurries before I got to the Edgewood exit at top of hill almost 4 inches by the time I got to Moriarty probably close to 6 inches and it was pounding snow. When I got to Clines Corner it was very difficult to see where the road was, dozens of trucks jacknifed. I plugged along slowly until Tucumcari where it was clear, no where to park before Santa Rosa.

    Now that is funny.
I would love to come over to JCT, but that last time i checked they weren't hiring out of my area, and i believe that i have been off work to dang long, but i do enjoy reading this tread, and the fact that y'all seem happy as a pig in #### over there, and there is so much negative posting about so many companies here.

Ok first off I was not openly recruiting... I was only answering specific questions asked by someone... If you took it as that I apologize for the confusion.. If you took the time to go back to the original thread we were discussing how to lower our turn over rate when orientation was completed.. Some people have a false sense of what it takes to be successful.. For example, there are only 2 of us left out of my class of 13.. Being successful is very hard work but very worth it in the end.. I know I am successful due in part to having a mentor/recruiter who has been more than willing to answer the phone and guide me through what I considered a difficult or frustrating situation.. That was one thing that made a difference in my experience.. Without that help, I may not have made it.. Between being frustrated and venting or flying off the handle with someone at JCT or abandoning a truck. This happens all the time here.. Several of us were wondering what we could do to make the transition easier for new drivers... And maybe the shop won't have to be adding E's and F's to new Prostars.. By the way, my mentor never once asked me to use his name.. I have never asked anyone to use my name.. I am not trying to make the xtra quick buck by referring drivers to JCT.. I am just trying to be as helpful as I can.. I know what a tough decision it is to make going from "company" to "lease" driver status.. It is a lot to consider.. Also, I am still "wet" behind the ears and I am not in a position to effectively recruit and stand by a new driver.. But, there are many on here that can.. I am still learning something new everyday.. And the Florida comment was completely uncalled for..

Ok done with the rant.. Again, I apologize if I offended anyone.. I am not here trying to actively recruit. I am just trying to give some advice base on my experiences.. JCT has been a wonderful company to work with.. The people there are more than willing to help you become successful.. But sometimes going to a mentor is easier.. Especially in a time of frustration and confusion.. It was nice to have someone to clear a few things up for me and reduce my frustration.. Before I called my support staff..

Vette relax man, the Florida deal was directed at me if anyone. It was very funny by the way, but it was just a joke. Lighten up brother we all kick back and have fun here. Do you honestly think I eat as much pie as these shmucks say?? Do you thing everyone really buys me lunch??? It's all in good fun

I started this because you have been bringing it up a lot and I just wanted people to know that we are not here for that reason. We are here because we want to offer our opinions.

The real joke was on the last guy he recruited, he had fried bologna not steak, the beer was warm, it was raining, 48 out side, and his wife was gone for the day shopping with her hot friend so he had to spend the day with vulcan in a speedo..... Poor guy!!!!

This is not a place for flame wars..........

18 is a piece of cake...don't sweat it,,, I once took a job driving a 5 and 4 many years ago, mind you I had to call my friend and ask what the heck a 5 and 4 was, after ten minutes of hysterical laughing, he explained this to me, told me how to drive the darn thing over the phone and sent me on my way. Mind you I was green as green eggs and ham but I gave it what for. So if a rookie like I was at the time could do it with no driver training what so ever back in the 80's an 18 speed is a walk in the park for sure. Good Luck and remember to BREATH!!!
