My truck is netting 63 cents per mile. I don't think that is bad money. We do not pay any tolls, scale tickets, highway use tax, or fuel tax. All of our deadhead miles are paid, with the fuel surcharge. Not too many O/O have that. Any O/O does not want to net too much more than what we do. Why would they? The Gov is going to take it anyway. My wife and I have not taken home less than 3200 for the last eight weeks. Ask those O/O sitting in the truck stops in Houston if they would like to take home half of that......

The key to making that kind of money is to hustle. LMB runs his butt off from what I can see. Of course having a second driver on the truck makes this plan much more viable.
On a side note, LMB how are you doing with your fuel economy? I suspect to turn those miles you are really keeping your foot in it. -
I average 5.75mpg. We haul a lot of heavy. I am mostly grossing 78,000 or better. With the new straight thru mufflers I just put on my fuel millage shoud increase by 4/10 per mile. The right side muffler was completely clogged, so that should make a big difference in the power also. I am going to put on the Turbo 3000, and the OP1 oil system. I know my Classic is a big wind blocker, so I don't really look to get better than 6.75
mpg. We run between 62 and 65 mph depending on the terrain. I also know that if I need 75mph I got it.

LBM, is that fl to ca run a dedicated? Me and my co driver would be very tempted to make the switch if something like that were available.
-
Is that a frieghtliner or pete you driving lmb?
-
No it is not. We just have been lucky to get it. Most of the teams do run CA to FL but we also run AR to OR also, and we get a lot of the runs that have a short schedule

everything looks good, couple things concerns me though: 1.they lease 06 and 07 trucks - they probably have arround 700000 on them. What you gonna do when engine blows up? At that mileage you never know... They still charge 450 to 600 a week for them. Newer trucks only for senior drivers.
2.Tey booked for next 8 weeks now, lets say an average class is 15 people - thats 120 people for 2month. Or 720 drivers a year. I heard they only have about 700 trucks, does that mean that on average driver quits in a year? Im just about to sell last of my 4 trucks - someone please tell me im getting it wrong, i really want this oportunity to work out for me

I think all around, JCT would be my next choice for a job if I were to leave my current company.
The only big problems I have with them, are the fact they don't run percentage of revenue, which means big miles to make big money. Not good on a truck you own.
The lack of insurance slows me down now that my wife is out of work, but I read in an earlier post that they may be offering some? Is that right?
