    anyone with a prostar have a big BIG radio? 200 watts +? have a cobra with the stealth mod puts out 210+ wilson 2000 ant perfect swr,,whips cut to length for 27mghz,,and after trying factory ant hook up was only getting out 1 mile,,,had strasight line wire run for ant and ground wire installed,,(bet the shop will pee on themselves when they see it even though run like factory in harnesses)but still only 3-5 miles what gives,,anyone had luck getting a signal out past that plastic hood?

    Hell I don't want to send him packing just yet, at least let him suffer through all that paperwork, any hoo I'm working on taxes still not filed and rewriting logs from Dec. I just found out about and apparently we can log at 66 now.

    Ahh my friend, if u want to run a big radio u need a big metal hood to amplify the signal, all that fiber/plastic just absorbs it. Try a set of monkey mades (real ones) and aim them 45 degrees out to the front. lol I have no idea but that sounded good huh:biggrin_25526:!!!!

    I've got a Ranger 6300F with Top Loader antennas the radio is at 80 watts and I get out 6-10 miles depending on the terrain 2-3 miles I bury everyones needle. The stock antennas are junk. My next investment is a Stryker Antenna I used to have one on my last truck but was stolen.
