I haven't gone through the entire thread (surprise!), but I am curious as to how long the average JCT lease/operator stays out at a stretch and how much home time is reasonable.

I have it in my mind to try the O/O thing before I call it a day, and I do hear a lot of good things about JCT.

Well kids, just had my whole master plan sort of side tracked. My original intent was to stay at the company I have been with for the last 18 years, Con-way Truckload. Have decided to go back on the road within the next month. Plan was since I have been in the office for the last 3 years I guess, and only driving on weekends and holidays, side trips as I like to call em, to go out to get that "recent" experience. Due to some Medical insurance deals, mainly needing to keep insurance on my son till he turns 18 in less than a year, and he gets on the GI plan. It was a good plan, up till a bit ago. So my wife is from Laredo Tejas, we don't have no family in Jop MO, so told her that if she could get a job and house and whatnot down there, cool with me. She couldn't get a transfer with Truckload, thats a whole nother story, but anyhow she did it.
Here in lies the problem with my master plan. JCT whom I really wanted to get on with next year doesn't hire from S Tx, even though they go to Laredo. Maybe in a year, when things are hopping, they will change their minds.
Seems like I in a virtual way have gotten to know many on this forum. I will stop in from time to time and see what you all are doing, have many of you on my Facebook, and maybe will catch up with a few on the road.
My exploits will be on http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ck-on-road-con-way-truckload.html#post1356350

Be cool, Be safe, and if some whack-ball in a white Con-way Truckload waves to you, it is probably me,.
