I have not yet had the pleasure of actually meeting fr8shkr, but I see no bad attitude from him anywhere on these pages. In my opinion, he is mostly up-beat, and positive. Sure, there are times we all have bad days, and come here to vent, but that is to be expected. We can, and will, vent to each other, because we all know what is going on, and have been in that situation before. So, we understand. Anyone not in the trucking industry may not know what the gripes are, and how annoying they can be when they are continually repeated. So---we vent. And we vent here. case closed. It is afterall, thanks to LMB, OUR forum. You know....JCT......

Head on down the road big-un. As I said before, good luck to you. Now go play on your company's forum.....

LMB, I joined this forum so I could reply and tell you how much I have enjoyed this blog!

I met a JCT team (mother and son) in a truck stop in Stockton when I was just getting my CDL there in 2001. REAL nice people. couldn't say enough nice things about JCT. I never forgot them for some reason, really left an impression on me I guess. This was a second career move for me back than. I am 53 now. Did the truck thing for about two years total since then. Tried to avoid the road as the kids were still young.
Last time in a truck was local 3 years ago in Kansas City, MO where I now live. Looking to get back in. MY how things have changed! Do you think this CSA 2010 thing will shut you down from running so hard? Seem to remember you talking about retirement soon? :)

If I can find a trucking job, I would be solo, assume I will not qualify with many outfits since no exp in last 3 years, but looking at a few places that I might beg my way into! Anyway, I REALLY enjoy reading this thread. It has been VERY encouraging. Minor flames from time to time, but overall, got some REAL good info from here. Thanks!

You should do dang good with a truck thats paid off as long as its in good shape and it does not break on ya. That extra 500+ a week would not be to bad now would it?

a little like 7 hundred plus .....my prostars fixed expenses ran something like 560 pymnt 120 down 89 apu and of course physical damage which i think was 80 wich will go down to like 15 dollars ......old freight shaker aint worth on paper as much as a prostar

but i made money with those payments and this old century is in way better shape than that prostar without the egr and dpf i am seeing less shop time and better mpg plus i got a lot more space so far dyno and oil samples since march have all been spot on so i should have quite a while till a major breakdown so i hope

anyways talked to recruiting today they are waiting for ok from safety etc should be good i actually left on good terms with them paying me money ...even got that little flying j fuel rebate like two months after i left :biggrin_255: still a little peeved if they would have just changed their policy two months earlier on the age restrictions for trucks i would have never left now that old creole lady has to feel me up again
