Bought my '07 International 9400i thru the company I'm leased to. NOT a lease, an outright purchase using their bank. I paid $88,500, at a dealer the same truck would have cost me $100k-$110k. I made a down payment of $2250, and the remainder was financed over five years at 7.25%. My MONTLY truck payment was $1718 till I refinanced for a lower interest rate. Now my payment is $1640 monthly.

My point? There is a better deal for buying a truck.

Good for you. I don't want to own a truck, so this deal is perfect for us. We will drive it for a couple more years, or move up to a brand new truck, then when we are done, we turn it back in. No more payments to the bank. I kind of look at it like leasing an office space.

cool thanks alan, and the side note is for the down payment? so total weekly output should range between $800 to $1200 depending on the truck, and for others down playing a lease like this try bying a truck from any dealer and walking away without a severe hit to your wallet and your credit report. that to me makes it a nice proposition, as soon as i can get all the details i will compare them to some other companies l/p and make some sort of decision. thanks yall

Sounds like you got a good deal, the JCT deals is not all that bad my buddy has a new 2009 T660 he pays $563.00 week for 5 years here. He has a side note of $116.00 for first year for his down payment. He has a brand new truck for about $300 more a month then you, so his deal really doesn't sound bad and if the economy takes a crap he can walk away, as for you well that's another story.

yes the side note is for the down payment for and the side note is usually for a year.

I agree with the economy in the crap hole right now it's a risk on buying your own truck. But at JCT we haven't seen any slowdown at all. We've still got the miles so far. So I'm thinking he'll be ok.

I guess Portland,OR to Bridgeton,NJ would be considered good miles. I think that's coast to coast. We left Thursday midnight, Stopped off in Akron Ohio, and seen my wife's MOM for mom's day for 24 hours, and made Jersey 10pm Sunday night. Got our Preplan out from Jersey city to Fort Smith Ark in the morning

$152,332.00 over 5 years for a T660 is a bit STEEP just to say you own a truck.
