well although the gravy train has petered out for me lately,,my profit here in my first year,,after taxes,,actual take home pay.....60,589.00,,average miles per week for that year,,3400 and change,,,,first month on e-logs with a dm that KNEW how to ru n them,,,after tax net profit just over 5,000.00,, it can be done here,,but everything must go right, next btwo months on e-logs after good dm got canned?,,less than 2,000.00 net,,,,before taxes,,,so there can be some serious drawbacks, but nate and tom (dm's) seem to have a good rep for e-logs,,,hope for one of them,,,,too late for me but thats just the way it goes sometimes,,,,,,,would i do it again?.......yep,,in a skinny minute.

Hope the surgery is minor and that all goes well.

LMB, you still have way more patience than I do for some person who has evidently NOT bothered to read everything and has no clue what they're talking about. Does that patience come with age and dang it..... when will I find it???? :biggrin_25526:

You pay Social Security and Medicare taxes when you pay your Federal income taxes. It is commonly referred to as self-employment tax. That's what he's talking about.

The quarterly taxes covers the fica, put aside 10-15% of your check each week and it should be plenty to cover that.
