JCT was good to me for the short time I was there. My truck was too heavy for their freight. I tried it for a month and went elsewhere. Big Studios and '53 Reefers are a bad combo when trying to pick up 44K loads.

I don't know why you are worried about an 18 speed. The only ones I have seen are 13 and 10 speeds. I don't know anything about USX so I can't help you

I ACTUALY HAVE THE PAPER WORK YOU SIGN TO LEASE ON FOR THEM AND CAN PROBABLY ANSWER SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS, I WAS GOING THERE BUT THEY HAVE A FREEZE ON NC DRIVERS TILL SPRING, THE PAYMENT RUNS FROM 450-600 PLUS PER WEEK THEY HOLD .5PER MILE FOR ESCROW, YOUR SUPPOSED TO GET IT BACK UNLESSS THEY DECIDE TO CHARGE IT AGAINST THE TRUCK FOR TIRE WEAR, DRIVERS THERE TELL ME IT SEEMS TO DEPEND ON HOW YOU LEAVE THE COMPANY (if you quit) there is also a "side note of 4500 or so dollars they deduct every month for one year non refundable guess if you dont last a year its still due, no cascadia trucks petes kw, frghtlnr classics go to their web site and check out also there are several threads on here about them anything else i will try to help,, stickhauler

I might try and play a little devils advocate.

That lease payment seems awfully high, when you consider it's a 5 year lease. I thought it was 3 years, for some reason. Either way...

I could buy a used $60M tractor on a 3 year note at 13% interest and it'd come out to $467 a week. If you jack the interest rate up to 30%, the payment is still less than $600 a week. The tractor would be mine after 3 years, and I wouldn't be beholden to one company and have to give up the truck if I left.

However, I recognize not everyone can qualify for a loan, especially in this economy, but it's just food for thought. I think one advantage you might have with JCT would be a dedicated dispatch team. You know what you're going to get paid per mile (you're not dealing w/ brokers) and the lanes are pretty consistent, as are the miles. I just think, if I'm spending that much money on a lease (basically buying my own truck) I want to have a little more freedom in terms of what truck I can have and be able to refuse a load. (better stop, I'm about to start going back and forth w/ myself on here, and no one wants to read that).

Nevertheless, LMB seems to be doing a great job, and I hope the miles stay up. If I may ask a question, what do you do about health insurance? Do you have a Health Savings Account? That'd be a pretty big concern of mine.

My Choice would be JCT as to why just read all the threads on USX it pretty much says it all then read all the threads on JCT and its clear as where to go...as far as your Jan 26th start date just hold on and wait for it mine is Jan 19th and the reason for the delay is they only bring in 15 drivers at atime...and right now they have more freight than trucks
