Yeah, I think the same thing, but would like others opinions. Thanks for responding!

I haul milk right now, and since our dispatch has changed, I'm only getting about 2600 now, and netting about $400 after taxes and small advance. I need more income, and that's why I have pain-stakenly researched this, and other, sites. From what I've read, if you know what you're doing and work (not sit at casinos and TS), a driver should make A LOT more than that, right?

LMB, I noticed you had to quit because of your wife, right? I'm very sorry to hear about her battle. Is she doing OK?

Im with LMB on this one. When i decided to head back over the road 5 years ago I chose JCT primarily because of the freight they pull. People slow down on some of the frivolous purchases but they do not neglect their waist lines.

This is true, its also why you see companies like "Maverick" primarily flatbed trying their hand at reefers now. People eat.

Doc, was listening to lockridge report on xm the other day, he had experts on saying trucking is picking up again and they are still short quality drivers. As far as getting an idea of how much you'll make, I believe someone posted a link to the calculator on john's site couple pages ago. The truck payment cost they used on there is the price for the new Cascadia's I believe.

Thanks Alan... And yeah, I already figured those numbers on their calculator. But... since it's on their site, (not saying I don't trust them :biggrin_2559: ), I just wanted "real" drivers telling me what they thought or were making.

The way to success is to be paying attention to your business, know when to take time off, how much and where to fuel, and most importantly maintain good mpg.

I just asked a recruiter about the experience requirement and was pleasantly surprised to find out that 6mo current is good-to-go.

OK guys.... Here we go. I need your unbiased and honest answer to these IMPORTANT questions:
    1) why ( and are they) is JCT charging 25% interest on these trucks?
    2) if I read it right, Contractor only gets paid for additional pickups AFTER the 4th one, and the drop offs are normal, all but the 1st. Is this true, and if so, why?
    3) if a driver chooses the 2012 Cascadia, he/she will end up paying almost $200,000.00 for an 111,000.00 truck if the above interest is correct. That's over $84,000.00 in interest!
    4) many other such questions, but I need to finish reading the SEVENTY PAGE contract document before asking more.

BTW, I did get approved, needless to say. Otherwise I wouldn't have the contract. ;-)

Please help me out with this guys. And thanks in advance!

Good questions. Might wan't to compare the total interest payments on a new truck from the dealer with those figures. I'd bet it would be comparable, not to mention that some folks can't just walk into a dealer and drive out with a new Cascadia. (They'd laugh me out the door and tell me to never return.... I'd be the butt of their jokes for WEEKS).
