Signed on with Cowan this week. Told JCT I was quitting and they came and tried to take the truck while I was on the phone with Ginny, my DM, planning my dels. for the next day and getting me a load back to Sapulpa to return truck. Were'nt even gonna give me a chance to clean my stuff out. Had to run out and stop them in the middle of the road. They did me a favor cause that was all gonna be done for free. The problem is that the drivers used to be able to fudge their logs to compensate for the long waits at shippers and receivers and not now on elogs. So you wait at the shipper all day to get loaded and then get maybe 200 miles in , then the next day you get a good 600 miles in, but then you gotta repower the load on the third cause you lost so much time the first day. You take the new repowered load 200 miles and wait all day to get unloaded. Then it starts all over again. S in 3 days you got 1000 miles, 6 days 2000 miles. I had 5 weeks of negative pay statements and had to go. They just won't do anything about the detention time.

If you wait at the shipper all day, thats a 10 hour breakAlanp613 and Steel Tiger Thank this.

It takes time for the elogs to work out, here at Marten we have been on them almost 2 yrs now. I get between 2800 and 3200 miles a week they just got to know how to plan and dispatch.
Sent from my iPhone 4dabs Thanks this. -
but you lost the day and have to repower. p/u mon del weds you lose monday not gonna make it. you drive 3 hrs to get there and sit for 7 then drive 4 then take your 10. you lost time. sleep all nite get up in mornin drive 3 hrs and go to sleep again for 10 hrs. no, bye the time they get you loaded your ready to go to sleep again. if you could plan on getting 10 hrs sleeper you could do that but you have no way of knowing if its gonna be 1 hr or 10 hrs or anything in between.

most times it was 7 to 8 hrs to get done. Leaves you 3 to 4 hrs driving time for the day. Tell DM if I sit for 2 hrs I reset my day they say run it as far as you can we will repower. Lost big money in Houston Dec 22nd. Was on the road for 4 weeks said I wanted to be home for Xmas. no problem, gave them 4 weeks notice. My kids where fling in from Wis. and NJ. Had to dead head home from Houston. Sorry no loads from Houston to any where near Fl. Why did you send me to Houston? Why did you tell me when I asked before I p/ued this load if there would be a load home from Houston, yes no problem? Did you look ahead to see if this was gonna work? Answer from DM I don't do that. It doesn't work like that. Well it didn't work like this either. When I quit I did everything right. Told them ahead of time, told I would bring the truck back, just get me a load, better then running back empty. They still tried to take the truck with all my stuff in it. Listen I could under stand if I was close to making some money but not running right, that would be my fault. But 6 weeks running with 1 day off and I owe them $1000 and I'm getting 7.2 mpg running at 72 mph, sorry but thats not even close to makin money. I did everything they told me to do, didn't turn down a load, didn't turn down a repower when they needed it. Drove 2 hrs to Monnett, AR 2 hrs to load. Then 2 hrs drive to Noel, AR 7 hrs to load. Had to park in drop yard down the road. Soon as I moved to get loaded 7 hrs sleeper lost. Elogs. Monday shot, load needs to be in Chandler AZ. by 23:00 weds. Anyway good luck to all. Me and Capt. Zoom we the only two who took new trucks and we didn't make it. 3 other drivers in a class of 6 took older trucks and they all had brekdown issues didn't work out either, didn't keep in touch with 6th driver, but if he made it 1 outta 6 ain't bad?

If you drive three and sat for ten, why were you only able to drive three after that? Were you already low on hours? Also if I were you, while sitting that 7 I'd be resting, then after 8 you can split that sleeper and finish up the second half of your 11, then take a two, then do whatever you got left on your 11 and 14 after your 8 hour break. If you had the hours in the first place. This is the reefer business, sleep time is going to be unpredictable.
