I had Brock for my DM, which was a BIG part of the problem. I asked THREE different times for a different DM, and was always told I would have to work things out with Brock, who in my experience is nothing but a liar who CYA's himself with so much BS it's almost humorous!

Loads that I agreed to pick up and either repower or schedule a later delivery didn't happen a few times, I told him I couldn't do one delivery and it would not legally happen. He put down that I threatened to fail a load. Grrr.

Also, my last trip in, in order to get it on the settlement, since the past week's had been negative due to the timing of the delivery, I was told by Brock that it would be dropping in the Sapulpa yard on Saturday, so long as it was there by 3 pm. I drove non-stop to the yard, and arrived at 12:45 pm! Brock had NEVER mentioned anything to the weekend crew, so it was considered an "unauthorized" drop!!!! Grrr

So, yes, I'm very angry and my family has suffered. I've made it my mission to save drivers from the BS there and force JCT to fix their program.

AS I told Shannon....their attorneys aren't worth the paint on their shingle.

Well sorry you had a bad dm. Dont know the whole story so just gonna let it be. Hope you find something better that works for ya.

From my perspective they are still a great company to drive for. Im making good money and they are taking care of me. Are there negatives? Of course but my positives outweigh it overwhelmingly. Like i always say, will everyone be successful here, nope. But can you be successful? Definitely

And just how do you plan on making JCT fix their program? I can understand that you're angry...and can certainly understand the family suffering part. Unfortunately with leasing (or any business for that matter,) it takes suffering and sacrifice. People never realize just how much capital is required to start up a business.

In your defense; I think that all of these lease/purchase deals are slimy scams. They let basically anybody with a cdl come in with the promise that they'll own a shiny new truck in just a few short years. Most of the time, these new owner operators don't own anything except the clothes on their back...much less have any money in the bank. Heck, most of them need a cash advance from the company just to buy smokes! They sign on the dotted line thinking they're going to cut a fat hog in the ###. These companies thrive off of people like this, and some of them (JCT) have gone strictly to leasing. They pay you just enough to not hang yourself, but you better watch every penny. You are basically standing on the edge of a financial cliff. The view from on top is pretty nice. If you break down or go home however, down you go to the bottom of that cliff. You spend the next 3-5 weeks pulling yourself out of the negative, and eventually you get on top again. Better not go home.

If even half the people that set out on a lease actually completed it, then these companies wouldn't be offering them. They do it because it is very profitable to them. If you have a 5 year lease but only stay for 3, the company is going to recycle that truck to the next driver and make him sign a 4 or 5 year lease. I guarantee you that those 2010 Pro Stars that JCT has have been paid off 5 times over. Over the 5 year lease term on my 2012 Cascadia, I would have ended up paying $179557.04 for it. For comparison sake, truckpaper.com has a brand new Cascadia listed for $121,300. With the same down payment of $7273.76, I would only be paying $404.29/wk. Anyways, I know all of the arguments about credit and opportunity and whatnot, but it really is a downright dirty way of getting your employees to pay your bills while working for peanuts.

Irregardless, when it comes to lease/purchase, JCT is up there with the best.

Those numbers don't work. At $404.29/wk for 5 years, you only end up paying $112,389.16. That is $8911 LESS than the listed price. How does anyone do that? Longer loan term?

Whoops...my mistake. When doing my calculations, I put the loan term as 72 months as opposed to 60. The new weekly payment would be $438.57.

Good luck at getting a brand new truck for 439 a week at the dealership. I just bought a use one for that price at 42 months.
