I hear you HOLDYOURGROUND I cant understand how drivers still fall for those scams. The math does not add up if you do your homework you do a lot better running as a company driver and saving your money. I did the numbers didnt add up I didnt have the best credit even filed bankruptcy 4 years ago and had only been driving for a year. I called a dealer and he ran my credit and told me to bring 5K and I would be good to go on a good used truck. Now do the math I could save the 5k for the truck and say another 5k for insurance, tag, authority AT 200/wk.
Compare saving 200/wk and be good to go in a year with my own truck building my business and not running myself, family to death because i have to pay $700+ a week. The math and common sense doesnt add up. I know to each his own but just trying to put things into perspective for those who want some info on what worked for me and I also thought about JCT I just couldnt see myself paying somebody else that much money a week when there is a better way.
Fellow co-drivers we are all here trying to maximize our time, money, and do the best for our families and even JCT as good as it sounded to me at the end of the day $700+/wk doesnt compare to $200/wk plus the freedom I have all Im saying is doing the math and giving a dealer a call and its not a difficult as you think just doing our homework and listening to those who are doing it the right way. A liitle patience and hardwork and you will have your own truck with a reasonable payment. That right now stuff always has a price to it and im not saying you cant doing with JCT people have but you do pay more than what you would if you did it on your own and times are to hard to let people take money from my table that can be on my table. I really hope it works for all of us either way just do the math

ibcalm1...you do not show or state the age/condition of your truck. what about warranty? I can make a pretty good guess it has no warranty, and when it leaves you broke down on the side of the road, who will pay to fix it? With out a warranty, you will be stuck with the bill. The "bad mouthing" of JCT and their programs/policies and or benifits, don't suit you, but still can suit others. If it is so bad, why pray tell, is there still a waiting list of folks to hire on with the company? When you are broke down on the side of the road, I will wave in my NEW JCT truck!!!....

Well I have done the math. I am 67 years old, and don't feel like retiring yet. I feel that this truck I have here at JCT is like renting an office. I get to write off the ENTIRE truck payment. If I get tired of it I just walk away, and don't have to worry about making a truck payment every month. I don't want to own this truck, or any other truck. I am making great money, and my wife and I are seeing the country. We run 3 weeks and take 5 days off. We average $3200.00 a week net. I know a lot of Truck Owners that would like to be making that kind of money. This is not for everybody. It is a good job, and a great company to work for. I am paying $544.00 a week for this truck. If I get to the point where I can't make a profit every week,I quit and go home. A lot of business owners out there can't do that. The Challenger, chcrow, walkinboss and 3 others Thank this.

3 drivers got Prostars. Those were the numbers. Don't know about posting a pic. Not happy with what I got. I did not pick. I got what what was left. Moving out of it as quick as they will let me.

Failure is for those who think they will fail. John Christner makes money, I make money, everybody is happy. Are you in a lease now? Have you worked here? Do you work here? Have you tried & failed? A lot of drivers keep their trucks for 2 to 3 years, then move into new trucks. Are they failures?Alanp613 Thanks this.

I hear you LMB each man or woman has to do what is best for them I appreciate your info on this matter. I believe must of us are not in your position and if you are doing well I'm glad for you and your family. Im just shedding some info on a different way about getting into the truck ownership and not breaking your family. Like you said its not for everybody and some need to do a liitle more research. They need to know what there getting into.

First Herkyboy Im not hating on JCT and I said I want us all to do well out here. Secondly I dont just drive a truck I know how to fix a truck. My dad taught his sons well dont brake something you cant fix. We learned to fix things before we could brake them. I will say it again all things are not for everybody what is good for you may not be good for me and vice versus. I hope you are doing well at JCT and Im doing fine myself. My position is there are different ways to become an O/O the leasing thing wasnt for me and I didnt agree and just put my info out there. I hope it bring some light to the table for others
