not impressed so far... All single drivers from our orientation got 07's with close to 500K miles on them. Teams got new prostars though. Im really trying to get good fuel mileage from my t600 driving 63mph, shifting at 1200-1300rpm but im getting 5.7 so far. Dispatchers kinda rude and pushy . Even if im ahead of schedule 24 hours they dont let me to relax - if take a brake in the middle of the day there comes a message to your qualcom: "hey, are u gonna start rolling soon? Im worried, are u gonna be on time" . I mean come on -im gonna be day early! You gonna make about 32-35 cents per mile unless you drive team. When you take couple days off-you not making anything that week, lucky if you not negative. No benefits off course. but i never had benefits - been o/o for last 7 years so thats fine with me. On the other hand if you dont need hometime and get fuel efficient truck you will make more than company driver because they will give you lots off miles. My first week i got 4068. Im not trying to discourage anyone from JCT, its good if you really need money fast. You will probably take home about 5000$ a month. But im use to take about 6000$ a month with every night and weekend home for the last few years so its kindoff hard adjustment. Oh well, im gonna get use to it- good times ended i guess...
jlkklj777 Thanks this. -

Thinking about making the plunge to JCT. By what i see on this thread they sound like a great company. My only question is that myself and a coworker of mine want to run team together, we live in Fort Worth TX and curious about hometime. We dont mind running hard but still want to see our wives and kids as well. Sounds like FL to CA runs would be good and would get us close to home. D they really try and get you home when requested or do you have to fight for it?

they'll get you home with no problem but they expect you to stay on the road minimum 3 weeks, they prefer 4-8weeks.

As far as the mileage on trks it just shows that most the trks been running hard. I have 07 t600 and have 535000 on mine. Had it since may 06. Try to shift at 1300-1350 on the high range gears. I normally skip high 6 and high 8th on light loads. I downshift at around 1100-1150. My avg mpg is 6.5. On light loads I avg 7.5. You might want to try that out. If it doesn't improve have ur charge air cooler tested.
as far as your exp with the dm they are just making sure seeming how you've just started. The reason is a lot of the new drivers can't handle 4000 miles and they gotta find some other driver to take over. Once you prove to them u can do it they'll pull the stick outta their ### lol.
I'm avg 44-50 cents a mile so I can't really complain. All I can tell u is give it sometime and they'll be easier on ya -
yep listen to what aln has said he has help me out alot u are new i will be new they are just seein what u can do that dont know u yet but they will
-
not to make anyone mad but if u was gettin 6000 and u was o/o why did u leave a lease a trk that what i wanna know
