Well, they left out this morning and bobtailed to Freightliner in Joplin. Apparently, the shop in Joplin could get them in faster than the one in Springfield. They are stuck in Joplin while the leaking steering rack gets fixed. Nice way to spend the first day? Probably not.

Well, they spent last night in Joplin, but the truck was fixed at about 9:30 am. They headed back to Springfield, and the load they are supposed to be hauling to TX tomorrow is arriving there sometime tonight. He's meeting w/ the Trainer at 5:30 for an early start.
They were told at the shop that the leaking steering rack would have only lasted a day or two. Which would have put them somewhere out on the road w/ a breakdown. In this heat. -
Got their first load. SpringMo to Plainsview, TX. Load to the WM Dist. Center there. Delivery made, waiting on next load.
-
And...off they go bobtailing to Albuquerque, NM.

JCW got put up in a hotel in Jonesboro, AR last night to wait on the new trainer that will take him on his last ~5k. His new trainer picked him up pretty much on time, and they are headed to the drop in Jonesboro. After that, on the road to get the last 5k, and back to SpringMO for upgrade. FINALLY. I'm so ready for him to come home to get some ... ahem ... k. I'll stop now.

Has he been happy with the quality of his Prime training experience so far? So many new drivers find their trainers to be one step up the evolutionary chain from blood-sucking parasites bent only on increasing their own income with little, if any, regard for the "training" they're supposed to do.

With every trainer, there is gonna be give and take. You get out of it what you put into it. He's learned what he needs to know to get started. No trainer is going to be able to teach you everything. That being said, if you have major personality/morals conflicts, you'll do yourself a favor by asking for a change.
He's had issues, but toughed it out. He wants to get out there and make money to support his family. If there'd been a dealbreaker, you can bet he'd have gotten on the QC and requested a new truck.DenaliDad Thanks this. -
JCW passed his Sim test, and is out in the parking lot at Pittston picking out his truck. They gave him a list of 8 to choose from.
