HA HA, let's just say my truck is having problems with the ECM and I don't want it fixed, and the qualcomm is not recording overspeed. I've been enjoying having a FAST truck but I only go whatever the speedlimit is, and have been going to KY where it is 70, but when I discovered the problem I was going past 75 and still accellerating with a overgross load (my usual load I pull)

So you all just stay in that right lane and you'll be ok when you see a century with a messed up grill coming up fast in the hammer lane, LOL

    alex94 Thanks this.

so far it sounds like I might get a Volvo, FLD, or maybe a T-2000, Any suggestions on which one to hope for. I have heard FLD's turn tighter then KW's but I think the guy was talking about W900 or K800 not the T-2. I drove older (2005) FLD columbias in school and they were fine BUT its all I have ever been in. I think I might try to lease option though a dealership in a year or 2, then its either a 379 or a W900. Just love the look always have.

Go with a Volvo or T-2. I loved the Volvo's I drove at Central. And if you are going to lease a truck, yes you like the looks of the 379 and W900, but looks don't move freight. Those trucks are what amounts to a rolling brick in aerodynamic terms, with the square hoods, stacks on the side and air cleaners. Since you are considering leasing you will be paying for the fuel, so a super clean aerodynamic truck will get as much as 1mpg better fuel milage than a non-aerodynamic truck. And 1mpg at todays fuel prices can save you several thousand dollars over a year, so just how important are looks?

I like to say, A pound of chrome never moved an ounce of freight

when i started driving. the price of diesel was $1.50. fuel surcharges didn't exist either. just when the economy was taking a crap diesel was close to $5. it dropped down to $2.85 but is closing back on $4 now.

i've heard people make claim to using a baking soda solution to make hydrogen bubbles to be sucked into the intake systems of there cars. and getting 50% better gas mileage. imagine getting 50% better on them big trucks. :biggrin_25519:

A pound of chrome may not move an ounce of freight, but it does make heads turn when you drive by. I agree an aerodynamic truck can get better fuel mileage, but I hated the T2000. They have room, but it rocked and seemed quite unsteady. I was told the Volvo's feel unsteady as well. Maybe it is just me, but I couldn't back to a truck like that now. If worrying about sleeping while someone is driving is ever a concern, the multiple cabinet trucks that are better for that. The sound doesn't carry from the front to the back as much and they again seem to not sway as much. Of course that is my opinion and opinions are like arses, everyone has one.
