Yeppers. Good thing he's getting rdy to go home today. Am worn out. :biggrin_25518: Since they came back from church, had more sword fights, wrestling, I've been the batmobile, the joker ( how appropiate, eh), a horse, and who knows what else. I'm fat, over 50, and out of shape. Would this constitute "cruel and unusual punishment"? :biggrin_25522:

Those are correct figures and a sound platform to begin from
as long as you dont forget any of it.Once on your own your freedom will have you making some very questionable decissions.

If you lost 88 miles a day ($88) doing 60 mph and made $720. in 6 days, doesn't that equate to losing a load for that week that would have paid more than that $720. you made/saved driving at 60 mph?

Actually I run 64-66,come miles run/gallons pumped I see my profit
    come months end.
12K mile a month is good enough to keep my bills paid

The problem that I see is saftey and added expences. My mentor is an O/O so he has to pay for everything. by driving slower he is safer, has less issues with DOT (log book stuff) and doesn't put out as much on fixing the stuff that bruns out because of the higher speeds. He has to clear 2000-2200 miles per week to pay the bills which is no problem. But running at 68 (swifts rules for an O/O) he has to clear 2500-2800 to pay bills and make up for all the little stuff. Running harder to spend more just doesn't work for him any more and I like his philosophy.

As for the math this was my caluations based on my mentors past and present driving style ( he didnt always do 60)

    68mphx11Hrsx$1/m= $720
    720miles/5mpg= 144gx$2.15= $310
so 68mph = $410/day (not counting little stuff)

    60x11x$1/m= $660
660miles/8.5mpg=78gx1.85=144 (better rebates dur to lower fuel usage)
    so 60mph = $516 /day

If you drive 300 days a year, $116x300 is almost $35000 per year more.
I think I'll keep my goverened truck.

Swift just put out a new compny wide policy, 60 mph in a company truck. I think it could save them .5 mpg and when you currently put out 6 million miles a day that could add up quick.

Not going O/O for a while so my truck will do 60, unless there is a hill involved:biggrin_25525:

actually 60mph in a 65-75 posted zone is a road hazard
wont convince the pencil pushers of such, but running up on
    said event makes ***** happen
