the dot wasnt doing anything down here last week i ran ga tn ky sc and nc and the scales were just buisness as usual no check points on the back roads seems like the dot didn't care if it was blitz week or not. i just had to run that way this week a lot of guys took off cause they didn't want to get their old wore out port trucks on the road that week. so it opened up all kinds of freight for the rest of us, to good of runs to pass up for me. it'll be back to normal next week thou.

in case any of you are interested. i've signed up for a service called ringcentral. 7.99 a month for 700 faxes. i already have a printer/scanner from bestbuy for $40 when i first started. and the quality of scans is equal to kinkos.

i can now send and receive faxes from the truck using my cell phone as internet modem. i downloaded the software. makes things easier. but faxes can be emailed too. basically you use an email address of ###-###-####@rgcentral.com or something to that effect. but the software allows more then one page per fax. and works really really sweet for sending and receiving.

as for the pcmiler. its been 3 weeks now and i have absolutely no qualms whatsoever. routes the same as truckmiles.com websight. doesn't have the bells rand mcnally had. but it gets me from door to door without screwing around. which was more then i could say for rand.

i've been using truckmiles.com on my phone for the truckstops along my route. i pull up the stops. and bookmark the page. delete the page when i'm done.

i saw that book one time for $13.00.

Those Ft. Stewart loads would be the bomb. They are always very high paying, and the government pays a good fuel surcharge.

IA is really sucking bout now with the flooding. I 29 has a 20 mile section shut down around the Council Bluffs area. Detour has you going on I 80 E and waits till you get to the I 680 before they tell you to follow 80 to I 35 N. WHAT!!!!!!!!!! Pull out the old atlas, find the help numbers, they give you a flood number and am cutting up US 59 to US 20 instead to get to Dakota City. Guess I should have thought to check weather before leaving out but hey......HT. lol
