On the newer trks, at least the KW's, jakes do not work in cruise control. Have to actually prees the brake to engage. No idea why they changed it that away.

*sighs* Wouldn't you know!!! Just before I leave this company, I have my 2nd "incident", that was my fault. Was doing a swap and caught the guys mirror as I was backing in. Is that bad for 3 years?

i do beleive it is but you know these co's should understand that little thing like that happen with all the backs and things that we do #### is gonna happen i don't care who you are or how long you have been driving. We get complacent . Tired, and these things will happen there should be a set set of rules on things like this. But nooooo your a bad driver in their eyes. I say put these hippocrits in a truck and lets see how well they do. I bet the rules change then.

i had a 99 ken and 98 pete that also didn't work with the cruise on.

the 95 i drive now will work with the cruise on. going downhill it kicks in.

texas hwy patrol is pulling trucks at random. making false accusations of any lights not working. and they are giving warnings for mudflaps and reflector tape.

and these warnings count as points against your license and you CAN NOT fight it. even though there own code makes no mention of tractors. and there own locals are flapping there flaps in the wind.

doesn't matter if your pulling a van or refer.

and when they ask for your logs. tell them you need to print em out. they'll skip the logs but check the rest of your paperwork and your bills.

i've been asked a few times but no one seems interested in actually
    looking at them.

BS like that makes one not wanna drive a truck. wonder of OOIDA is doing anythi9ng.

Sorry, OTR rookie question, is there a national organization for ALL truckers? I am, andintend to continue to be a company driver. After I post this I will hang up and look online, but the entire CDL community continues to be under-represented, yet hammered and all we get is Laywer services at the truck stops. GRRRRRR!:biggrin_25510:

OOIDA is the closest thing for a organization that represents all truckers. Eventhough they Owner Operator Independent Driver Association. They fight for the rights of all drivers. ATA or american trucking assoctiation tends to just represent the big companies not the drivers

Eventhough I'm a company driver, I am a member of OOIDA

i just signed up with ooida. gonna have to get a hold of them now for a lawyer on my speeding ticket in wyoming due on monday. between my overweight ticket last year in july, speeding this year in july and now warning for mudflaps and reflector tape. i won't have a license now. there goes the end of my trucking career.

stuck in lubbock texas with a radiator leak.

i can't beleive they deadheaded me from lubbock to mansfield arkansas (330 miles) for some load to bring back to lubbock. then deadheaded 110 mmiles south to big spring. now i'm back in lubbock for the night. gonna be another crappy pay week. and next week too. since my load won't be delivered till monday now. 900 miles left on the jounrey.

can any of you truckers look at your road atlas and give me some phone numbers to call for texas dot or something please. i'm in the motel and my atlas is in the truck.

i'm trying to find out the deal about this warning. and no one has a clue about this situation. they've had phone calls for the same problem but have no idea why.

it's starting to sound like a cop with a vengeance for truckers.

haven't called ooida yet. been trying to call texas. and from the fmcsa regulations i pulled up. i have absolutely NOTHING that needs to be fixed.

reflective tape is required on the trailer. NOTHING say it is required on the tractor.
mud flaps are required. BUT NOTHING SAYS THEY HAVE TO STAND STRAIGHT WHEN driving down the highway.

all my lights work. but he tried to argue that one with me.

this dude literally walked around 5 times trying to find SOMETHING wrong. even checked EVERY strap. OVER AND OVER
the only things he DIDN'T check were my logs. fire ext. and triangles.
