Hanging out in Brooklyn, IA for a forced 34. Can't deliver until 2200 tomorrow in Minooka. It was a great place to hang. Came in just behind some giant thunderstorms. Got to enjoy the cool air. Woke up this AM to fog which I don't have to drive through. Sometimes things do go well. Have to be grateful when they happen. Hope all is as well for you.

I am finally headed toward home for a restart.
Well, I will be in the morning after I drive another 120 miles to drop this load.
Kept trying to give me the same load for Monday again. And I kept saying I needed a restart.
FINALLY, they gave me one to pick up Monday and deliver as soon as I happen to get there in Allentown.
So not many miles, but gets me my deadhead home I needed, and gets me my restart.
I think they will send me to the terminal in Carlisle after that for service anyway. Still have to have my 5th wheel removed and serviced.

Hey, did any of you Pacar fans. Cat fans hear about the lawsuit against CAT for their 2007-9 engines.
Seems that the issues some were posting on here were enough that a group of company's have filed a lawsuit against them for the DPF issues and other issues with that system. Too bad it is not class action yet, you could join on and maybe get some of your money back.

not meaning that against PACAR in any way, just most of the people I see in Pete's and KW's have CAT's

Had like 45 minutes left on my 11 and had no clue what I was going to do if this place was filled. didn't you hear man. we're in a depression. no money to keep the rest areas open anymore. in fact. things are so bad. kids are required to bring there own napkins and toilet paper now to school. and everyone has part of that as there back to school bargains now.

All right, this place is too sleepy. Today ran into the worst yard so far. Ferrara's Candy in Chi town. Total confusion. Now, I am going to turn myself in for re-education. All the folks that work on this dock (males) except one have hispanic sur-names. All the immediate supervisory staff are hispanic, or at least are very communicative in the spanish/mexican language.
That is a side-bar to the external activeties. People were showing up early for appointments, and there is no order within the shipping area....other than what was provided by some familiar drivers.
Don't really mean to just say...this shipper/receiver sucks and happens to employ a lot of people that English is not their first dialect. The situation in the yard is due to an amplification of the afforementioned hiring practices compounded with no frickin idea of whats going on to the square of stupidity of the truckers in the yard.

Well I screwed the pooch badly today. Slept thru 2 dang alarm clocks and was late to my 1st appt. Looks like I'm going to be late for the final also. Who knew it would take so long to check in just 3 pallets. Oh well, 1st svc failure in over a year so expect I'll get a talking to.
Would help tho if some good sleep had been gotten.

I am on my way to Chicago for a morning delivery. I think I will stay in good ole' Lake station for the night. I am there now, so may be a good idea lol.
Then I have a 4 stop, 3 pickups around Chicago and then bring it to Columbus to the yard and drop so I an get my services done.
So looks like a short mileage day tomorrow and probably nothing till Thursday night for an all nighter.
Of course I will not be able to sleep during the day, due to truck in shop. But since I will be showing it as off duty they will run me all night even without the sleep. Because that is just how they like to roll.
I prefer them to give me something out of there with a little time on it.
So I can drive till I get tired, getting a couple hundred miles down, and then stop for 10, and run the rest.
But I got my restart, and with the break I probably will have no issue running against my 70 next week. So that part is a positive I guess.

Who knew that an OS&D issue would turn out to be such a pain!!! Finally got rid of those 68 cases of "thinly sliced deli turkey meat" but they waited till the very last minute.....and then some, to do anything about it. Wish I knew whether it was REALLY Tyson on the hold up or my company. Ended up donating it to a food pantry in Irvine, CA.
As a side note, CA57 really sucked , trying to travel on it today. Took me almost 2 hrs to do # 50 miles. Was able to run ok once I hit I 10. Thank goodness I run paper logs!!!!
