Lol snowy
I get asked all the time for advice which is what I like to do for my fellow drivers. With this being said you have some old hands and new one that give information but the old hands seem to really ignore the newbies like they are wasting our time. Not me I try and help out when I can. With that being said I tried to help out a newbie with a possible job oppertunity only to find out he only had a permit. Silly me for not digging a little further sorry 1bad
So who do you go for advice my take on this is find someone with 2 years plus and ask. The big vetrans in my opinion have the don't waste my time attitude and forgot that he or she too was a newbe at one time, -
i told you i was 160 miles away and that i would be hauling a s s to get there befrore 3. so why did you make me drive that far to tell me you don't have a load for me?
that's 320 miles you cost me in fuel as i could just went home instead of driving 160 miles the opposite way.
unloaded in winnemuca. going home empty from reno.
and on another note. i'm going as fast as my governed truck can go. when a 65 sign comes up. so i drop the cruise 5 miles to 65. 15 miles later there's a cop with his sirens. gave me a warning for 70 in a 65. i said my gps said i was doing 66. he also gave me that famous warning of clearance lights not working. so i pulled into petro for dinner before making the empty drive home. and i'll be ###### if all 7 aren't lit up. -
i stopped in wendover for the buffet last night. now i'm at petro in reno and there's the same guy that was in wendover. LOL.

You would have passed us we are at the Peelot in Winemmucca!! Heading up to Utah in the AM!!
Deliver at associated Foods on Sunday Night then back to Heyburn ID to pick a two stopper going to San Bernadino and Riverside CA, so that trip will hit the pay might help a little! When we get back in its time for a talk to the operations manager as the DM's excuse is they are putting extra time on the loads because of the weather and roads hmmmmmmmm right, the roads were worse last winter!

Yeah what she said

Im really not liking the 61mphI they restricted our trucks to. Its fine in the double nickle ststes but it sucks everywhere else. Everyone passes me like im on jack stands I can't wait to get the freightshaker rollin then when I get into places like nevada that is boring I can get out of here much quicker. Our truck is so slow that snowy passed us coming from california to utah then back to utah and passed us again by the time we hit winnemucca like we were sitting still. Even the dogs fell asleep while they were eating seriously this truck is slow

you ain't seen nuttn yet jj.
taking a pwernap at the rest area in utah on the 80. 57mm. then finish the journay back to yard. grabe the second contract and head home.
if it looks good. and you're interested i'll talk to the boss. they are looking for o/o's.
that be you're excuse to jump ship and get that truck on the road. 13 western states and some east cost is better then 5 western states. we have reefers if you want to stay that route. and those do go east. the flats already have the equipment needed to haul loads. if they get the tools and there crap together. i may switch to tanks. as long as i can haul one that has compartments and isn't one hole together.
then we both can fly down the road together.
i'm getting loaded monday morning with rebar. if the contract looks good. i'm gonna see about making a pit stop at kenworth across the street and getting the ecm opened up. before i head out. -
i'm home now. waiting on jj's SLOW A S S.
IF YALL WOULDA SAID SOMETHING. i woulda stoped in winnemucca. i came home empty so i was in no rush .
the contract is in.
10% trailer rental. 10% office dispatch. 2% fuel card fee (fuel taxes). 78% goes to truck. get my own trailer and save me 10%.
truck payments are $235 per week for 36 months. wished they had a stipulation for early payoff. or a price. after 36 months. truck is mine.
$36,600 is the total for a $31,000 truck is what they valued at. if i get a loan. i'll pay about the same amount after interest.
$245 per week for plates, insurance, permits. $12,800 per year.
$200 per week maintanance till $5000 balance is reached.
settlements are weekly just like paydays are now.
i haven't actually gone over the whole contract yet. so i still may find something i don't like.
so if you actually owned the truck. i'm guess all the owner would have would be the plates, insurance, and permits fee. with 78% going to the truck.Last edited: Jan 28, 2012
