Hi. This is the first time i've ever posted anywhere so if post looks messed up that's why. I'm from reno, nevada and work out here is slow. My wife has a real good friend in Fort Wayne and we have decided to move because our state is not doing well. We want a better life, nicer people. My question is this: what company would you recommend as a comp that I could start with. i have three years OTR experience driving 53 footers, dirt truck double transfers. Currently, I'm working for a comp that just doesn't have the work. was trying to avoid OTR because i have four boys but i cant anymore. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. I was thinking i would look for a company that has a terminal in Allen County and apply here. Do companies allow drivers to transfer to other states? How would you advise me to go about this? Any companies to avoid? I have clean record, no tickets, twic card. all endorsements but hazmat and am working on that. Thank you, Renojc6

Wow, That is huge question. Truth is there are lots of companies in that area. I do not know much about them, but look forward to following your adventures, as I too am considering locating back to the midwest for various family reasons and getting home more often, if not daily. Good luck.:biggrin_25525:

Check out heartland. chrome dome works for them. Also there are a lot of companies that offer regional in the midwest. I hopefully in the near future will be going to orientation in reno for landstar since we bought our own truck.

A drvr I saw today was having a baaaaaaaaaad day. Parked on a shoulder, at a rest area ramp, and guess the shoulder gave way. Tlr was laying on its side, with all the airlines and pigtail still attached. Wondering why the tractor, didn't go over with it? Strange.

I have seen several of those in Ohio. Wet winter and ground never froze. So all the banks on the roadside are loose.

3080 miles in 6 days. Wish I could get that all the time. Boss wanted me to run a load to AR tomorrow, said it would take 9 hrs. Told hime cool, would have enough time to go home for a reset. "Oh, ready for some time off?" Me "nope, but dang if I'll sit in AR for a reset". Going to KC on Monday instead. Wonder if I pissed hime off???

Well i fixed the jake brake toggle but need another hose clamp to finish off the blower motor and 2the more electrical connectors to finish off the turn signals, i also got my hazmat done and my license renewed, still need to redo my physical but wont be able to do that on the 2ndroad of april. We got a couple of fuel cans to put some fuel in the truck, also had the spare tire fixed and its good to go. The batteries were dead from sitting but i hooked jumper cables to my pickup it took a while but it started. All in all was a productive time off still have a few more thing to do, oh and should have the title back in a couple of weeks.
