i'll never ever never take my truck in for an oil change EVER EVER EVER again.

i can't afford them $3,000 repair bils. a simple fuel gauge fix being the majority of that bill.

the fuel gauge was $1200. they said the tank was positioned wrong. so in the process they broke the straps and charged me new straps. and since the tank was now out they decided to replace the sending unit too. all without consulting me.

i had them replace the water temp sensor for the dash gauge. fix the air leak. those were cheap. but it turns out the front axles were JUST starting to leak. along with the front axle pinion seal. and i had them fix the steering box leak also.

now i have to decide how bad i want my badly needed steers replace. :biggrin_2557: i did call a tire store that one of my local construction jobs use. can get them for $800 installed and balanced.

Expensive beasts these trucks, especially ones that haven't been maintained, We put a new fuel sending until in our shaker and it really wasn't that expensive, JJ just informed me it was $134 with parts and shop fee!

Fuel gauge from the wreckers in Utah $5.00!
