turn outs are actually better they help keep the water out and they throw the soot away from the truck. i got the straights which are a lil short and they blow soot on top of the cab constantly cleaning. plus the turnouts give it that bullhauler look.

Sounds Great JimBob!
What area's will you be running in???????? -
Dont burn yourself getting in the truck LOL -
straight pipes are an open invitation for rain, snow, and rust corroding the exhaust pipes.
soot is a sign of a richness problem.
my truck stopped showering me once the turbo was rebuilt. and netted me an extra half mile per gallon. -
Ours only does what I refer to as black snow (soot) when you first start it and we have been sitting someplace and it has rained or snowed pretty good. I would rather have the straight pipes and put flappers on top. I don't like the look of the turnouts. I guess each has his own preference. Burns on the pipes getting in usually isn't an issue, it is when you get out, at least for me.
1bad, we have heard that if you use car paint on a truck, no matter how many clear coats you use, you will have issues. Do you use car paint, or the Dupont truck paint? -
beee uuuu ti ful day in the neighborhood.
think i'll turn the pipes UP on hawg and take in a ride before heading to albuquerque -
i usa ppg products on trucks same thing as on cars. one solid colors i use a single stage urethane with no clearcoat. on metallics i use a basecoat that when dries is actually flat then i go with 2 coats of clear. you do this so when you sand and buff the metallics dont lift and make the job splotchy looking. back in the day the dupont imron system was the trick because it got harder and rock chiped less than the standard enamels and laquors that were put on cars. now with the advent of urethane paints which get harder and are easier to work with are put on trucks from the factory.mama mia Thanks this.
