Well, I made it back home yesterday. Looks like none of the 22 palletes of beer blew with the bouncing trailer. I figured all the cans look like footballs. Put the truck in the shop for routine maintenance and we will see what is next. Boss asked if I wanted due the team run, but I kindly declined since I would have to be hooked up to the iron lung for that trip.

They are still looking for are team driver for the East coast run.

Well JJ doesn't let me touch the coffee pot in the truck after I burn't myself with a full pot of coffee, and he did make me some to fill my Thermos.

 

We always start out at our main yard in Port Orchard, WA. and then the team run goes to the East. I did part of it on my last trip. It starts in SD and it goes to most of those states WI, MN, WI, MI, IN, IL, OH, PA, NY, MA, NJ, DC. There might be others and it is not the same trip all the time. It depends on which of our customers place orders. We have one owner operator running that direction as well.

They head out early Thursday morning and are back within ten to twelve days. Depending on the back hauls and where they finish off and they usually have a couple days off between trips.

I did a 23 stop load that started in SD and finished off in OH that included WI, MI, MN, IL and IN. We do hand offload our products, but I don't think anything is heavier than 40lbs. We have keys and access codes to all our customers locations. No waiting to offload for hours. In most places you just back up to the cooler and go as fast as you can.

the office actually got me a load. it was a jess load. but since she is on the other side of the country.

300 pounds 300 miles.

left colorado springs at 1. up the 25 over to the 70. picked up in aurora. back on the 70 and up the 25 at 330. went to point of rocks wyoming. but ended up in preston idaho. no one ordered the load in wyoming.

so here i sit. 90 miles from home at my old yard. where it all started 2 years ago. trying to see what i can do about some risers. take rebar to phoenix and mulch back home for the weekend. then anohter load back to phoenix and maybe one of them daily loads over to delaware.

next weekend i'm coming to hunt jess's arse down. i need to be in indianapolis first week of june to help dad move home. good excuse to avoid the inspection blitz this year.

nice thing about being here. is mcdonalds just a short walk across the street. WITH A REDBOX.
