I keep wondering about that. Just not quite sure what and how I want to do it. I had met a guy that acted like he wanted to be a mentor, but when asked did not come through. I guess he works a small market around here and did not want any competition.

I got my red Volvo back for now. I volunteered to pick it from Volvo so I could take it home and clean it. I forgot to take a picture in front of the condo. Looks like the truck is not much smaller than our place :). Luckily most of the other places have not been built or the neighborhood warden would probably have a cow.

I guess for now I will be going back and forth to CA for the next 5 weeks. I will be working 7 days a week with not enough times for a reset between trips. Recap here I come.

got the load back to shipper and fixed. $1100 for the tow man. to bring out a tonka toy forklift and not even get the job done. but if i woulda known the foam portion of the load was no big deal. i would made the first drop in missoula today. so now i've got 4 days to drive 500 miles. for the first drop. instead of being EMPTY and on my way home. TODAY. from the second drop.

and on another note. i've got 14 brand new straps RUINED from that cross country trip. looks like i'll be stopping at peterbilt for a box of bungees. good stuff cheap. and start buying new straps to make up for the ruined 14.

and yet another note. the truckstop in ellensburg has a perkins restaurant next door. guess where i'm eating tonight.

I am in CA and it is hot. There was a truck-bbq in Redding and a lot of burned up Budweiser boxes on the side of I-5. Looks like they might have saved the truck since the trailer was there by itself and it looked like it was dropped in a hurry. The landing gear was not cranked down.

I got a nice light load and have so far averaged 8.6mpg on this trip. Got two drops tomorrow and Monday the produce dilemma starts. I was wondering. Since the air quality sucks in CA and if I idle a new truck wouldn't I improve the air quality. Seems like the air going in the engine is worse than what comes out of the exhaust. Shouldn't we be able to charge the state for improving air quality instead of being fined for idling. :biggrin_2556:

Having to bleed a reefer, turned out not to be as bad as I thought it would be. Picked up this trailer at a shipper last night, in the middle of a frog strangling rain. Didn't do a good PTI like I should have. Shipper made no effort to fuel this trailer, and I didn't catch it. Another lesson learned!!
