Hope things work out for you Viking... Idk if I truly would want to be an owner. I don't love this job enough to own but im also not in a financial spot to be able to do that either... would you stick to a reefer?

I am working on one option that would be reefer, but I could do other stuff as well. I almost bought my first truck back in Germany in 1990. I passed all the tests to operate a trucking business. Yes, they require you to go in front of a committee and be tested that you understand all the rules and regulations. A friend of mine and I had hired a private tutor for 6 month to pass this test.
I am at a point in my life where I want to do what works for me. Most of my adult life my hand had been forced to do things. Now after lots of changes I seem to be able to do what I always wanted to do. So time will tell in the near future.

Reefer rates are OK right now, Dry freight is even looking good the last two weeks or so.

Shoot me a message if you are looking for a company to lease onto.

We will hopefully be back @ work next week after some time of in TN

so i delivered my load in ray ND. on friday early morning. so that i could make sure i get reloaded for the weekend.

got 30 miles away into stanley. 2 tankers decided to go dancing. 2 hours to get to the intersection so i could detour an extra 30 miles. made it with 30 minutes to spare. got loaded and called it a day.

next morning, drive the backroads for the short 20 mile jaunt on the 90 in SD. got 3 miles up the highway and engine light comes on and turbo dies. turned around and crawled back to the tiny truckstop i passed. checked dipstick. added a gallon in hopes of some new stupid sensor triggered the problem. also hearing an air leak. find it coming from the air line to trailer.

back on freeway. running fine but engine light still on. got off the 90. more back roads to north platte NE and the 80. get on the 80 and dpg light comes on. absolutely no place to park till i get to the first rest area on the 76 in colorado. parked. hit the regen switch. WTF. NO REGEN. nothing happened.

called it a night. fired up in the morning. no engine light but dpg still on. hit the switch and WAA LAH. we have regen. 15 minutes in regen stops and red engine light starts flashing. GREATTTTTTTTTTT. WHAT NOW.

shut the truck off. fired back up. no red engine light. dpf still on. jump on the freeway and light goes out. made it to denver and all lights still off.

sitting in denver. i got 24 hours to make my first drop 1/2 mile away. debating on installing new plastic lines that TA sells or fix the rubber hose in the morning. which means finding a hose shop for a splicer kit. much cheaper and easier then replacing the dang things. but there's not a lot of room left on the hose before it hits the crimped on fitting. there's only about 5 inches to the cut.

hope the rest of the drive goes better. i wanna make my second drop in albuquerque before the close tomorrow. be in tucson for the 3rd drop tuesday morning. then to mesa and phoenix to finish unloading. spend tuesday in phoenix before my next load.

hope the truck a/c works cuz i hear it's 112 down in phoenix.

was gonna park the trailer and do some walmart shopping. but there's only 2 spots on this sunny sunday morning in denver. and all the parking is right side backing. so i drove straight in.

I made it to my appointment in Riverside on time after having a rough start Friday evening. First I caught the tale end of rush hour traffic and than a guy lost one of his trailers on I-5 and made a mess out of traffic. I checked my load before I left and was upset since it was not loaded correctly. I figured I would run to my first p/u in OR and stop my clock and restack stuff than.
After I got going organizing my load I found extra stuff and it dawned on me what they did in the yard. They flip flopped loads for the 2 CA runs. At this point I am frantically calling the other guy who left an hour before me to pull over and check his load. Yep he had my stuff. At this point we are close to 200mls a part in OR. We met in the middle and switched trailers.

I did not even bother to call the owner. Since his usual answer is: "what do you want me to do about that."

waiting at the TA in albuquerque for an oil change. got a truck sitting in front of me with nothing going on. mechanics standing around textoing and talking.

i'd like to get the truck in SOME TIME today so i can grab some dinner and hit the road for tucson. BEFORE i'm legally allowed to drive again at 1 a.m.. at whoich time i'll be ready for bed time. instead of driving. :biggrin_255:

I was like that when I was in my 20s. Than I figured out it does no good and I try to let things not bother me. I think it is not always easy to do and it is easy to burn out and have the I don't give a #### attitude. That makes it even harder on yourself. I try to pick my battles and stay calm and collected. I think that is about the only way to live past 50 without stroking out in this business.

I came through Tulare on Sunday and saw the Indian River tanker place. Do they have other yards in CA?
