I guess I did it the other way round. When I first came to the US I lived in Memphis and hated it. So I moved to Washington. Why don't you sell a lot of your stuff and start over. My girl friend and I just did that earlier in the year. We bought a new place and pretty much sold all the furniture and stuff we had and bought all new with the money, but we had combined two households and downsized drastically.
I want to do that in about 10 years again. Get a new place and sell all the old stuff.:biggrin_255:

Just take the scenic route like I do. Usually I run 99 South out of Sacramento down to Bakersfield, than I take the 58 East out to Kramers Junction and take 395 South to I-15. You can do the 215 I-15 South all the way to San Diego. I should be on my way up I-5 after getting loaded in L.A. on Friday. I keep dodging the Grapevine lately since traffic is always a mess with the construction and I do like my scenic route better anyway. Also fuel is a lot cheaper coming down 99. I saw $3.83 somewhere along there. I think the Love's in Tehachapi was $4.02. I am sitting at the TA East in Ontario and fuel is $4.289.

If you want to stay on I-5 south of Sac you can take I-5 to CA 223 east just south of Bakersfield. CA 223 ends at CA-58. Just another option.

There are several places to cut over, but I think 99 has less potholes than I-5. I have not tried CA 223 yet. This trip I took CA 152. What are you up to these days RizenPhoenix? I think the last I read you left Knight Refrigerated and went back to school.

I've been working as a conservation photographer for the past year and doing school part time. I'm getting the itch to drive again though.
