snow, snow, and more snow coming down from seattle and frisco. 15 inches from #1 and 9 inches on #2. #3 on the way with 6 inches. i'm ready for summer now.
anybody not having google earth on there laptop would be wise to have it. if you have a smartphone look in your marketplace for any doppler programs too. i hear weatherbug elite is the best game in town.
sorry to hear about everyones grandparents. my grandpa went 3 weeks ago. and he is very happy. after 32 years he's back with grandma again. -

i've been using weatherbug for years with no problems. along with most of the united states. it's a very trusted program.
i suspect you got the trojan from some other source. emails are usually the culprit. certain websights also. specifically those XXX sights. not well known programs. if you got it from weatherbug then you'd be the first.
what i mentioned was for cell phone use though. not the pc program. google earth does me good for my pc. i have a google phone. the recommendation came from all kinds of users in the forums. not me personally. i have a rainny days program on the phone. it's gps based so it can pick up my location and give me doppler around me. it's free but it don't distinguish snow from rain. weatherbug elite was the only recommendation for that purpose.
there are all kinds and ty pe of extra secondary hard drives one can use. it should be common practice by now. given the fact that viruses are basically an every day fact of internet life. if one doesn't have a secondary drive to be using to store there stuff in. then it's there own fault they lost everything.
and i'm not saying that to be an arsehole.
most hard drives are big enough that at the very least. split it in half so there's two drives. most people won't even come close to filling up that drive half full. which leave at least half of it not being used. the only drawback being that if the drive fails. you still lose everything. but it won't be becuase of a virus.
example::::hard drive is 250 gigs. split it in half. make one side 100 gigs for the main use. leave the other side at 150 gigs for storage. it's called partitioning the drive. one good peace of software is called partition magic. but it costs. do a google and i'm sure there are some freebies to use. or some that have a trial period. i use whatever windows installation dvd i have. but that's not for the beginner.
4 years MAX is the typical lifespan of a hard drive. anything over that and your pushing your luck. unless it's a seldom used drive.Last edited: Nov 27, 2010

I had the same issue with weather bug on an old computer.
It did not like being removed. I had to actually go thru the whole computer to get it off. Since after I did the remove program function it just hid away like a bug. -

I may, no clue yet.
I pick up the load tomarrow morning and head out. So I will probibly not have another load planned till Monday some time. They could send me to our Atlanta terminal for something also. Or back up to VA to terminal in Richmond. -
now that you mention that. i recall having that problem. also on an old computer. bout 10 years back. there's been a few updates since then. i don't think i've actually used it on the pc though since google earth integrated weather. bout 4 years back.ChromeDome said: ↑I had the same issue with weather bug on an old computer.

there's a difference between a program with a slight bug in it and an actual computer virus though. that's 2 totally different items.
