Usually, employers do electronic work record requests. FMCSA requires carriers to have a pre-employment screening program.

Yes. But he said they called his friends, meaning I presume his personal references. FMCSA doesn't require that. I always figured the only reason they even ask for personal references is to help them track you down if you skip out on them.

If you make your driver manager feel abandoned, it can go on your DAC. 25 DAC points.

When I was getting hired at ABF, they called every contact I put down, personal and professional.

Well, yeah, but that's a REAL job. They can pick and choose who they hire, with standards more stringent than "fog a mirror and pass a whiz quiz."

Megas are the fast food of trucking. Get some experience, learn your way around the industry and GTFO ASAP.

Ironically, the company that makes you wear brown uniforms is much less stringent about that. Then again, ABF had already done the heavy lifting. Haha

Yeah, I am not really happy about having to go to a mega but at least I think Schneider will be the lesser of the evils. At least they're safety-minded and I am very safety-minded so I think I'll get on well with them. I am hoping I will have a good experience in their tanker division.

We all start somewhere. I also started at Schneider, as a matter of fact.

In my case, I am restarting my career. Need recent experience then I am going to a local tanking job.
