I really liked cryo a lot it was just the BS that I couldn't/wouldn't deal with at Linde. I actually had a countdown on my phones home screen to when I wanted to quit for something else. February of 2024. I wanted to stay a year plus the winter so I could start something different come spring.
KAG Gasoline delivery only pays I think $26h but the specialty products(Merchant Gas) that you told me about earlier pays more so I applied for that. I used to work for KAG but got sideswiped and hurt. It put me out of trucking for 9 years. They are checking if I am able to be rehired or not. At $39h, weekends off and no co-driver they are the current front runner. Thanks for the tip.

I decided to call KAG to see if I could get an update but the people I would need to talk to weren't there. The person I did talk to said my application was marked "not going forward" so there is a possibility that I'm not on the rehire list. I'll find out tomorrow one way or another. To bad to looked like a great fit for me.
Who is KAGs competition in the SLC area? I would like to stay in this field if I could. -
I'm thinking KAG's competitor in SLC might be Pilot-Thomas Logistics, or is it Pilot Thompson Logistics? I think it's Thomas. The Marathon job looked pretty dang good are you ready to commute past the east side of the the airport? There is a lot of traffic between Tooele and SLC. Granted at night you might be commuting counter-flow. All of the fuel stuff is over there by I-215 & I-84. I've been to Tooele a few times and thought it was paradise. I even learned how to pronounce it correctly after the first trip.Last edited: Jan 12, 2023

I thought KAG Merchant Gas would push you to the very top of their "hire" pile--once they saw you had just been trained/groomed by Linde.
Who (else) wouldn't?
You might update your application with KAG (but this time....with their "Merchant Gas" division)--as appropriate in their system.
~~~~~~~
Past that--above, you also asked about KAG's cryo competition.
The following do cryo duty work, in/around your area, as a 3rd-party contractor (but not as a direct producer).......& I think any of these would be much easier to work with, than Linde
:
- Genox West (the "Genox" side is for the owner-ops)
- LGT Transport (has both company drivers, and owner-ops)
- Southern Pines Trucking (you guessed it--has company drivers, and also owner-ops)
Since you've witnessed, first-hand.....the incredible levels of dysfunction that can exist in the cryo producer world--the above listed carriers thus have all the work they can handle--and more (including KAG's Merchant Gas). Each/any/all of these listed may indeed be going "full guns" in your area--& need more help.
Or not.
The REAL question in my mind is: will any of these give you a home-daily gig?
You'll just have to submit apps with each/any/all of them--and inquire within afterwards.
One or more of these may (or may not) have a terminal or satellite location that's not far away from you.
Again--inquire within.....
Marathon Petroleum app put in. I didn't see a recruiters number I could call for more information. If the home time is ok and they want me I might take it.
-
I’d look at Maverik. They have decent rides and seem to be up on maintenance and it’s all their own stations.
-
If you want OTR out of SLC or regional and work, consider Pride Transport, Gurney Transport or Associated Food stores based in SLC.
