They dont care where you worked at.What they are really checking for is any past DOT safety sensitive driving jobs you had in the past where you could have failed a DOT drug test and the company didnt put it on your mvr. So they have you sign a form releasing your drug test results and they fax it to your old driving job. They are required by law to report it to a future employer for 3 years. Yes thats what they are looking for. Since you havent had a CDL before(they'll check anyway) youll be fine. They can pull your employment records for any jobs you had and had taxes taken out.Employment dates should be fine.If there was any gaps between the jobs or unemployment drawn just make sure to list the dates of jobs and down time with 0 gaps on the paper.

The above answer is the most correct. Do to the changing times we live in employers have to have references. They are required to check back 3 years if you have never driven before. If you have then they must check back 10 years. They are not doing this because it will make or break you, they are doing this because they have too. It doesn't have to be correct, just verifiable.

If someone knows what you were doing at the time give that persons phone number. I worked 19 years in Africa. No way to verify that, so I list a girl friend as employer. She knows when they call what dates to give them.
