Why in the world would you want a driving with a PICC in your blood vessal particularly if it is the vein (One of the major ones) near the heart itself.

This type of procedure is designed to essentially be what a central line does delivering IV drugs for a very long time period to you.

Flat Earth Trucker and JC1971 Thank this.

Driving around with a catheter in your vein is INSANITY. Bet he won't make that mistake again.

In my recent surgery I have had a temporary central line installed among other things. When it was over and I was assigned a room, they implanted a nice IV port into one of my big arm vessals with a device made to find viens. A 30,000 dollar vien finder did the job for them.

It was fortunate that I had that IV in place ready to take emergency medicine several times when pain over threw my defenses and pushed me into a seizure type situation that was almost a actual code a few times that week. My pain doctor recognized the inadequacy of pain control and switched me back to the strongest medicine called Oxycodone for two months as I heal. I have enough onboard now that I can actually think things through and post properly with quality information.

The entire medical system from my point of view as a legitimate pain patient is one in which everyone from the DEA, The State medical board in Arkansas on down to the doctors are determined not to allow one pill to be able to give to the people. Regardless of pain, withdrawals and other problems of this Society here. That is the other half of it. I only have about 10 or so family left alive and their children. There would have been so many who consider me a druggie now if they were still alive because they lived through the 50's through 70's where drugs was a problem for some. Courtesy of the Vietnam war that brought Pot to this USA among other things.

As I sit here and contemplate that bottle of the oxys, I recall that I am still afraid of this medicine and will only use it when my work moving furniture this week for the new recliner gets to big pain levels. And only then.

I don't understand how people want to abuse this crap. It is medicine that I like having, but there isnt anything in it that you would want to have in you in the first place. Example the Tylenol that is in it will hurt the liver and make me sick. Ive already been sick twice tonight. Which is ok as long there is no blood or ulcers.
