1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Just got my CDL last week, I went to TDI in Sanford. I have a clean driving record and I've never been in an accident. I'm 28 and I'm looking to stay close to home because of my 2 year old son and wife. I've pretty much applied to all the local jobs like budweiser, coke, pepsi etc. I had an interview last week with Bud and I have one with Pepsi on Wednsday. I really want to put in a year or more with a company and I want to get on with either Sysco or Us Foods. OTR is not an option for me right now, so do you guys think that will limit my options? Hope someone has an idea of some companies around here that takes new garduates from CDL school. Thanks for any help.

Comcar and Cypress. Sometimes Florida Rock & Tank will hire a new CDL grad.

Well I had an interview today with Pepsi in Orlando, it is the perfect job for me home every night and a Monday-Friday schedule with the occasional Saturday. Base pay of $575 a week plus time and a half OT after 40 hours plus .10 cents a case. The guy interviewing me said drivers make at or above 50k a year to start. 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year, count me in. He said I should hear something in 7-10 days about the next steps in the process so I'm not sure if that means I have it or not.
